Looking at her finger gleefully pointing to a cluster of stars above, I found the corners of my lips soften. Her eyes wide, she looked between me and the stars with that familiar intensity and a wide grin. “That one’s called Caelum!”
I squinted, searching around, making fun of her a little for her vague exclamation. She made a cheeky face and rummaged around in her bag, promptly pulling out a tiny piece of plastic. After meticulously positioning it, I could see the outlines of a small four-point constellation tucked away among the amalgamations of pinpoints just like it.

She was thrilled that I was paying attention, not that it was easy to ignore her charming theatrics. Even leaning on my shoulder, she continued to ramble on; about work, those smallpox blankets stashed in the lab, her social network analysis, on and on. Gradually, those words faded into the ambient chirping of the crickets around us. I liked my quiet time as much as anyone else, but I also liked the sound of her voice. Still, I let her doze off beside me.
A cold shiver ran up my spine. Somehow, my sudden jolting didn’t wake her up. A swelling panic overtook me. Irrationally, I started shaking her. “It’s time to go.”
She remained limp and I could hear neither word nor sound. Alarm bells were ringing in my ears as my eyes flicked back and forth like she trained into me. Lugging her up, I could see the side of her face drooping, an arm twitching, and the memory of her rambling fading away.

Why is this so underrated?? This is amazing! I’m really picky about English versions of this song because of how personal the original (translated) lyrics are to me, but I actually really like this! It manages to tell it’s own story without losing the magic of the original. (Plus, the story is amazing, haha.) I love it!!

I think the woman suffered a stroke or suffered from Alzheimer’s, either way it’s something to do with the brain. In the backgrounds when they’re saying “you and me” you can see medical things, especially the last one, where symptoms of some kind of brain thing is seen.
