  • CrossFit phenom Haley Adams experienced a meteoric rise to the top of the sport, but it came at a cost. Obsessed with making it to the podium, Haley spent all of her time in the gym, falling into unhealthy patterns. It took a step back from the sport she loved for her to see that she needed to obsess over her healing process. Haley has been working to rebuild her relationship with friends, family, and food -- and she's using WHOOP to help her do that.

    She started off very young. I could see how that would become very mentally taxing. I applaud her for recognizing the problem and dealing with it. Not everyone would have that level of good judgement and foresight at such a young age.

    Takes a brave person to admit and share the struggle with mental health. Good job for putting your needs first and courageously taking care of you

    This video is a God send. Im transitioning from a 12 year long career for several reasons (family, balance, mental health) to a more balanced career. Ive been struggling with this move but watching this video lets me know that im not alone 🤙

    Athletes' mental health is very important, especially within these pros, and it is not being addressed. I have been asking athletes to speak more about it and what they're doing about stress of excellence and failures. But they don't speak about it. Especially the crossfit hq. I know it's all about the $$ but it will be too late when they finally do.

    It's a grind at that level for sure. Rest up and hopefully you will come back 💪🏻 and if you don't, there is life beyond being a competitive athlete.

    I participate in and love Crossfit personally. But this sounded like a story of how crossfit ruined her life 😅(at that time)

    • @jamestapley4917
      @jamestapley4917 Рік тому +2

      Possibly less normal CrossFit ruined her and more the elite level / CrossFit games. I can imagine it takes its toll on some younger athletes - remember she’s only like 23. This is where I’d like CrossFit to support athletes with mental health professionals similar to most other sports
