- The Guitar Shop NYC is home to luthiers and string makers but most importantly, people who are passionate about what they do. This joint oozes with hand made quality goods and good vibes, a true "boutique" in every sense of the word. As Jimmy Carbonetti and Mas Hino take you on a tour of their shop, you can almost smell the sawdust and lacquer. They don't reveal too many secrets but you are welcome to stop by and say hi, try a handmade guitar or bass on for size, and some mojo might rub off on you. Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Iggy Pop, QOTSA) shows up to snag a recently completed custom Carbonetti build, and jams it through a Tone Job/Acapulco Gold for good measure. What more could you really want?

Awesome shop, looks like heaven, wish we still had shops like this in London Uk - most of the old traditional indepent music shops here have closed down over the past few years due to the capitalist beast. Sad times.
