  • Please join us in congratulating Intro to Long Range Student, Sam Woodruff of Arizona on completing the Milk Jug Challenge Slam (1000, 1200, 1500, and 1 Mile) during our September 2021 class.
Not many can say that they've completed the MJC Slam but hardly anyone does it on their first 10 shot attempt at every distance, let alone on the same day, and while attending their very first long range shooting course. Wow!
This is was all made possible by Sam showing up with a rifle and ammo that produced great groups. As you'll see in the video his 100 groups during our drill on the Fundamentals of Marksmanship were absolutely outstanding, even his last one which he shot with his eyes closed and relying solely on a great position, proper breathing, a solid natural point of aim and great trigger control and follow through. When you can group like that at 100 that mean you're shooting 1.5-2.5" groups at 1000 yards which makes it so much easier to correct for wind and hit the jug.
If you're interested in honing your skills as a marksman and getting a chance to shoot milk jugs out to a mile, visit www.longrangeshootersofutah.com/classes and get singed up for one of our renowned intro to long range course. Keep in mind classes do fill up 4-6 months in advance.

Huge congrats on your slam. I came out 3 years ago did the class also was the only student to get a slam 1k-Mile and it wasn’t even acknowledged, on top of that once I had Michael who was spotting the shots confirmed I had hit the milk jugs in my first 10 rounds on each distance Bryce told me when I went to share the news that If i wanted my 1200, 1500, and Mile stickers I would have to pay for them or donate money to the range. The class was fantastic and was a lot of fun but to have that experience with the non acknowledged milk jug hits at every distance all in the first 10 shots then asked to pay for the stickers or donate to the range to get them really bummed me out. Bryce wasto busy focusing on some younger guy who drove in from a different state with his dad. The young guy didn’t even get all the milk jug targets and was given all the Milk jug challenge stickers he had hit for free and also got some other stuff. Still bums me out cause I was super proud of achieving 1000-mile Milk jug challenge slam and I basically was crapped on. Still really a sore spot for me I guess.

Good solid fundamentals..... including natural point of aim..... good d.o.p.e. data to work with..... hitting the target like you want to?? Hmmmm... interesting how that works. Excellent job of putting it all together consistently!!
