Re-listening to “fire in the valley stove” was a treat. It’s a simple short story that is so well constructed. I love the fabulous and the truly “weird,” but respect for crafting a tight narrative.
The idea of treading water in deep ocean, or even being on some type of sea craft over deep ocean scares the living hell out me, always has. That last story was perrrrrfectly terrifying!! Thank you so much!!!
I was in the Navy and was never thrilled about the idea of what could be lurking beneath.....and how if you go in that water, you are completely at the mercy of nature. ALL you're advantages of being human are totally worthless. And yet, I still wanted to be a SEAL. Lol. Ya gotta face your fears if you're really gonna grow as a person.
I had a… not a nightmare, more like an intrusive thought: what if you were on a boat in the ocean and your friends were swimming and playing. You go to jump in the water, but when you leap the water just… moves out of your way. You plummet at nearly terminal velocity to the sea floor and splat on the bottom, a bubble of water held back around you. You remain conscious long enough to feel your body crushed as the strange effect collapses and the weight of the whole ocean slams down on you.
Sea horror stories are a guaranteed listen for me. That this popped up in my feed makes me hyoed as hell. Especially because this is part 3 too. So I have even more to listen to after this! Fantastic 😁
The tears of reluctant joy welled up in my eyes, as the unidentifiable creature ungellatated in my direction. I had no escape. It overtook me with vicious intent, and I had no option, yet to be subdued. It enveloped me like a cold, dark cloak of a dark mother's embrace. I found myself at home, for she spoke tales of HorrorBabble, carrying me into a sleep of dread, in which I shall never wake...
I once had a dream of being stuck in the bottom of one if these old old ships during a horrifying storm clutching on to my children hoping for the best.So now I live these stories.
I subscribed a few nights ago after stumbling upon Horror at sea 2 while trying to sleep, then listened the first part and just now finished the third, an absolute treat to find this channel! Brilliant readings of classics I've not heard berore, the black kiss was especially great in this one. Keep up the amazing work while i binge listen to years worth of content. 🤣💜 Thank you.
I love your work. I turned on UA-cam this morning and was already listening to your reading of "The Call of Cthulhu" bought from Audible when I saw this. I have subscribed and look forward to many miserable, terrifying hours of listening for the Autumn and Winter. Love that this school of horror is more readily available now, I was always considered a weirdo for proselytising about H P Lovecraft and the early~mid 20thC horror writers some thirty years ago but now they are getting the attention and respect they truly deserves. I am still a weirdo though.
I do enjoy the sea stories. They are some of my very favorites. Excellent narration. Also, it's wonderful to have all these stories put together for us. Thank you so much 🤗💖🌟
I love this channel so,so much. It's PERFECTLY done every time Plus Nautical Horror and Arctic horror are my two favorite subgenres. Thanks so much for the continued excellence. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Oh I'm also a big fan of Christmas Horror (hint, him) If there's any stories involving like Belsnickel or Hans Trapp or, of course, Krampus I'd be eternally grateful.
I'm sorry to knit pick but I'm so glad to hear forecastle pronounced right. Having spent time in the navy, some things just stick with you, ya know? Was I the only one who pointed it out before? Either way, great job as usual Ian.
I love horror stories set on ships at sea. So glad you've posted a third collection. Thank you.
I absolutely swoon for them.
But then I was always a weird kid 😉

Tales of horror and the sea.....spectacular.
I frequently listen to your renditions of terror on and from the sea.
Great job!
Thanks!
Yes!!! Thank you!!👍🏻🙂😳❤️

HorrorBabble is the only story channel I'll re-listen to even if I realize I've heard it before.
Outstanding many thanks for another fantastic video Ian!😎👍
Many thanks, Ian. "Look ye into its deeps" -- Ahab to Starbuck.
I love the Horror at Sea series, as well as the Diary Horror series you do
YESSSS OCEAN HORROR IS MY FAVORITE
Well, except Artic horror. Admunsen’s Tent and Mountains of Madness are two of my favorites of all time.
Best compilation topic EVER.
Love these theme collections. Makes it a lot easier when im in a sea or attic or haunted mood.
Thumbs up before I even start! I loved the first two so much!
Perfect! I will listen it tomorrow for sleep. Thanks, Ian.

I think I used to bungle it in the early days -- nautical terms can be tough to get your head around!
My goodness, how the quality of these narrations has spoiled me - HorrorBabble is the “go to” for hearing the creepy classics!
Delightful!!!!!!!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEED! MY GOD! WHAT A MONSTER GOT THE MATE! with that good ganja!
Good stuff.
