  • Freddy does a review for the Harbor Freight Daytona 1.5 Ton Aluminum Jack. Its a very small and light weight floor jack, is it worth the money or even worth having? Freddy thinks it would be great for auto cross or one car garage use.

Bought one today for my golf cart and zero turns. Also bought it because of it's light weight. I'm 50 now and anything I can do to make things easier on me now and in the future helps. Thanks for the review!

Excellent concise review. Appreciate the magnet test, so it's really a hybrid constructed jack as some companies like Arcan advertise when a combo of aluminum and steel. I was eyeing this jack didn't realize it's been out for awhile. Was thinking of getting it to keep in the trunk/lift-gate for emergencies. Unfortunately used my HF 25% off anything coupon on a cheaper set of wrenches this holiday season, didn't think I needed anything more costly.

I got the "low profile long reach" version... Worth it!!! I got a lowered (not super stanced low, but functional for tracking) 2004 Lexus IS300 and no issue with hitting the car.

Great review, thank you. This convinced me to get a similar jack, a 1.5T TEQ Correct aluminum from AAP. I love how easy it is to carry around, and it lifts my minivan just fine, especially with a block on the pad. I'm really liking having a light jack. One thing I don't like is that when I release it, it's not gradual at all, it just drops the car like a hot potato. Is the Daytona the same way? I was going to buy the Daytona but it would have been further to drive and the TEQ one was a little cheaper. I am wondering if I made the eight choice.

Would be great as a secondary jack. I live in an apartment and hate having to bring out my 3 ton jack constantly. I have a challenger , Chrysler 300 and a Corolla . Over kill for my Corolla which is my daily and constantly working on it. Oil changes , tire rotation. And that little 1.5 would be great as a secondary jack

I have the Pittsburg version, actually two of them now. It has one potential fatal flaw that you should check and that's where the two arms attach to the ram. I did an annoyingly long/rambly video on it if you want to kill about 10 minutes of your life, but the short story is that the geometry of those arms isn't right and they'll try to force the snap rings off. I've seen a few reports of people having their cars suddenly fall as they were raising or lowering it. One of mine was close to failing when I discovered the problem, the other appears to put no pressure against the rings, but it's had much less use so that might change. Since their manufacturing tolerances are willy-nilly, some have the problem and some don't.

I've got a 99 C5 Corvette. Not much fits under it. Garages with ramps on their lifts won't work. That's just the way they were built. Being only 3200 pounds, this would work for me. Great video.

Really like mine which was anodized blue. Only thing I suggest is removing the allen head bolts and applying locktite to the threads b4 reassembling. The Allen bolts loosen over time. Unfortunately my son took it so i need to buy another one.

I have one of these, and I live in a row house in the city. Lightweight is the main reason I bought it to lift up a CAR, not a giant Tahoe. That's not what it was meant for. That's like testing a minivan for 0-60 times, not what it was built for.
