I cried watching this. I lost my dad about a year ago, and I really miss him. So if anyone sees this, Please tell them how much they mean to you, even if you can't agree with everything they say, you might never get the chance again. I dont particularly care for my parents. I wish my parents loved me like that. Yeah they fed me and took care of my basic needs. But I would rather have been a foster kid or something rather than have lived under their roof. You don't know pain until you deal with the emotional abuse and neglect when all you want to to is be loved. Here's a story. My step dad and mom took me and my half sister to go get musical instruments. My sister wanted to learn the guitar and I was always obsessed with drumming. So they got my sister a nice electric guitar and Amp. I got an electric drum set with headphones. So basically they could hear my sisters playing but not my own. One day my step dad comes home and I'm playing the drums, at some point he throws his TV remote at me and yells at me to stop making so much fucking noise so he can watch family guy. Really killed my interest in drumming. About a month later, they pawned the drums to get cigarettes. (They did get it back but it was ruined, they lost pieces to it)
This movie definitely is in mind when my dad is being just awful at his age, and I do my best to keep my responses diplomatic. Calling us 'idiots' because we haven't transitioned to hybrid/electric cars yet, flaming my kid for going into the military, visiting his kids houses and complaining bitterly about food selections, music playing, tv shows selected, etc. It's hard but this movie... damn.

The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. You know fall all the shit people give Adam Sandler. This move had some great symbolism to modern life and how we let it go by to fast to be in the moment. Missing some of the best moments all because we get caught up in our own stuff.
He can be a good actor when he wants to be. He just wastes a lot of his time and effort on juvenile comedy, because that's what's brought him the most success.
I still maintain this is one of the saddest movies I've ever seen with a very powerful message: You have limited time here. Use it to cherish and be with your loved ones.
The movie starts off making the remote seem positive and fun to skip things until you see the consequences of not being present with loved ones. The message hits hard in this movie
The worst part of Michael (Adam Sandler) 's alternate universe was that he paid so much attention on becoming rich and successful so he can inspire his kids to become rich and successful like him in the future and even make his family very proud of him for his hard work at his job, it ended up costing Michael everything he ever loved.
I feel like as much as he was trying to say he was doing it for his family, he was deep down still trying to compete with the O'Doyles more than anything. Didn't really click until after childhood scene and thinking back to the "I'm trying to give my kids a better life than what I dreamed of" line
So that's 2021, huh? But I dont see no cool ass futuristic shelf built-in sliding bottled water. Where is my cool ass futuristic shelf built-in sliding bottled water?
At this point in my life , it was a total wreck of depression and rage, I was 19 , now I’m 33 and this film has a whole different meaning after experiencing life.
This movie inspired me to be less on autopilot (just scrolling down my screen) and focus more on the present and what is around me. I've felt so much happier and mentally better ever since
I may be 31 but I still hug my old man and tell him "I love you Dad!" Idc what ppl say or think my father done so much for me and he was a gift from God that I prayed for
God, I feel like a pile of wet newspapers. I lost my grandma to COVID 3 months ago. I keep thinking about all the time I had. How I spent so many weekends, summers, Thanksgivings and Christmases with her. How when she was in town, I was right alongside her and my mother. I was so close to her, even though I was 1 out of dozens of grandkids. I remember all the stories she would tell and all the platos of chili verde she would make. It was my favorite and I always felt special when she asked what I wanted for dinner. Despite all that; I keep thinking was there a moment where I said I’m sorry grandma I can’t, or I’m busy or not now. My grandma actually took me to see this movie and she told me how true it was. Her name was Lydia, she was 77 and had worked for 10 years as a nurse.
This scene actually hits me in a way it never did before. It says Michael lost his dad in 2021, and here he is two years later. I lost my dad in 2021, and it's been almost two years now. I wasn't there when he died; not even the day before. I saw him a month before he died, and I miss him every day.
My dad past away, i didnt talk to him for almost 2 months. Life lesson, always cherish every moment with your family. Ni matter what mis understanding u have.
This scene resonated with me more ever since I lost my father. My last extended talk with him was an argument/fight. I never got to apologize to him. Less than six months later, he passed away and it was devastating. If I could go back to that time, I would be like Adam Sandler here telling to himself "You're pathetic"
When I was a child all I wanna do is grow up and do grown up things, but losing my grandfather and seeing the wrinkles on my parents' faces makes me wish I could go back. If I ever have this remote, I will NEVER fast forward.
Treating a father like this because he was mean to you all the time, that I would understand. But treating his wholesome dad like this is just so unfair and sad.
This movie may have all your typical Adam sandlerisms but it does do an outstanding job with the emotional aspects as it takes a 180 in that second half and becomes more of a drama then a comedy, it really does hit the emotional beats very well and sandler and the cast play it very well, to give credit where credit is due this film is up there as his better ones, if not the first half but second half definitely outweighs the negatives imo
This movie IS a masterpiece. I think people just hate it because they can’t stand the mirror that it shows them of their own life. This is one of my all time favorite movies of Adam Sandler.
I lost my dad to cancer 5 years ago and his wish was too see his son grow up and be the man he couldn't and I know my dad is with me, and I can kind of see that I look like him
Lost my dad about a month ago, it ain't been easy, but there's some comfort in it knowing that I was there in his last moments of being being aware, day later he lost awareness, and 2 days after that we lost him.
Even if Adam Sandler makes a bunch of stinker movies, when the time calls or the script need him to, he can bring his A-Game to the screen. Just that entire last time he was with his dad is proof Adam Sandler can make an audience laugh and then have their eyes water with sadness.
@@CatchTheMarmosets I mean he wrote and direct a lot of those movie himself, so he wasn't "being casted". To be fair I love the silly Adam Sandler movies also, just bring good joy and relax, but this one hit different

I hope one day, you two will meet again and get to catch up on all the time you were apart. My condolences for your loss, may your father rest in peace, until the day you meet again
What's crazy is somehow the movie that has a slowmo shot of a woman jogging and a man farting in his bosses face. Was able to make me also tear up at the serious moments
Kind of like my life...I'm zooming through, one video to the next, like I'm trying to find something. Maybe a whole life, a more complete life, and just like the fridge for some people, youtube has become my bottomless cup. The only thing that brings me a little bit of joy in my life. Hours upon hours just wasting away, dopamine rush upon dopamine rush. Family, friends, life nonexistant. Sometimes I want to skip ahead and read the last page of my life story, but I'm afraid it's gonna be a whole lot of this. Sometimes wish I could not exist so my heart wouldn't have to break everyday.
Man, I feel you, but there's always time to turn things around, it's NEVER too late. Set some goals, small ones in the beginning, try to achieve them, step by step. Maybe start doing sports any kind, a healthy, well functioning body is the condition for a happy, positive mindset. I'm struggling with my weaknesses too but I'm sure we both can do it. Get up, on your feet, soldier! 👊
Not sure if you'll see this but I had to reach out, I've been in the same place myself. Hear me out. I promise where you're at right now is temporary and by forcing yourself to do even a little good for yourself every day (even making your bed perfectly every morning) will eventually add up to a new self-perception which will manifest into more disciplined habits that will then in-turn snowball into serious lifestyle changes. Now even though this snowball brings more positivity and love into your days, occasionally after a streak of positive behaviour life still pisses in your cereal sending you back to square one making it feel like you've made no progress at all. This is where most people quit and where the real challenge starts. People don't realize that being able to stay positive and focused on becoming better whilst in a rough position is a skill and therefore they don't treat it like one. They don't practice it, this is often why most people give up. But you're not going to give up. You'll just start making your bed again to get back on the same train as you originally did and when you inevitably reach that streak of positive behaviour you crashed and burned last time and are tempted to destroy yourself you won't because you'll remember just how amazing it feels to be in control of your habits and how much it hurts to lose that control. After losing, you're not a loser, you only lost so that you can better understand how to fight the demon with his dick out intending on ruining your perfectly good bowl of breakfast the next time he tries flirting with your new life. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, stop being bummed out that you're not getting any closer to it. The light you're looking for beams through good things you do every day and balancing that light against darkness is really what the end of the tunnel feels like regardless. This whole fight continues and continues over years until you've grown into a completely new person that you can learn to love again. And all you had to do was make your bed a few days in a row. You'll get there, give yourself time bro. Love ya.
Damn dude, right in the feels, you can do it man! Just keep doing as much different stuff until you break the dam. And you're a little bit better/different. Rinse and repeat
“Charlie, you know what happened to the boy who got everything he wanted?...He lived happily ever after” No, He died alone, a cold pathetic rich man with no friends no real connections to any of his loved ones He wasted every moment he had with them to succeed It doesn’t matter what you do in life You don’t need to be rich or famous or successful You just need to find people, and love them
I remember seeing this in theaters. My brother and I were holding back tears, but I could hear A LOT of soft crying and whimpers in the audence. One girl suddenly yelled out: WHYYYY?!? Man, what a gut punch.
"All your dreams finally came true, huh, moron?" Man, that hits hard. He finally realizes that all the success wasn't worth it after losing his family.
He said earlier in the film that when be becomes a success he'll hire a bunch of people to do all his work so that he'll spend more time with his family. I guess he got all caught up with the whole thing and it didn't work out.
Obviously, we all have that moment in our lives we wish we could do things different, tell our past selves off for being so horrible, and be grateful for the people around us.
What absolutely gutted me, that I never realized until years later, was the sniffling. I thought it was coming from Michael, but it actually came from his dad. His dad left the room in tears, his last memory of Michael is him thinking his son hated him…

14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
*15¶If ye love me, keep my commandments.*
*16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;*
17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

It's hard but this movie... damn.

Matthew 11:15 KJV
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.

There’s no such thing as death. There is only energy transferred from one place to another.
^ that sounds nice, but that’s not the truth. The truth is that death is very real.
@@sparrowprince3432you don’t know that. And they don’t know either. But i think we don’t die. We don’t understand the divine concept of time, as much as a dog understands a clock.
@@Xylarxcode he also loved hanging out with his friends and traveling and uses movies to do so.

he didn't even wanna compare flap staples, what a schmuck
Family can be hurtful on purpose sometimes.
Its cause his dad was talking about his ass and he felt embarrassed so he took his father to the office where they were alone
Seems like he was starting to mimic his father.
Who is the bigger ass? Inviting his father to the Office even though he has a meeting or a Father being a Robotic and mindless Asshole for many years?
The worst part of Michael (Adam Sandler) 's alternate universe was that he paid so much attention on becoming rich and successful so he can inspire his kids to become rich and successful like him in the future and even make his family very proud of him for his hard work at his job, it ended up costing Michael everything he ever loved.
@B A S E D The movie "Click," actually.
I feel like as much as he was trying to say he was doing it for his family, he was deep down still trying to compete with the O'Doyles more than anything. Didn't really click until after childhood scene and thinking back to the "I'm trying to give my kids a better life than what I dreamed of" line

This was a beautiful story. May your grandma Lydia forever be honored by your life .

I think it's symbolic

This scene really hits me. I never had a good relationship with my dad but I do love him.
5:33 HES CRYING I DIDN'T NOTICE THAY BEFORE AAAAAA MY HEART

I lost my dad to cancer 5 years ago and his wish was too see his son grow up and be the man he couldn't and I know my dad is with me, and I can kind of see that I look like him
Lost my dad about a month ago, it ain't been easy, but there's some comfort in it knowing that I was there in his last moments of being being aware, day later he lost awareness, and 2 days after that we lost him.
Scenes like these really show that Adam Sandler is a good actor.
this almost broke me. how the heckis a scene this good in a sandler movie?
Even if Adam Sandler makes a bunch of stinker movies, when the time calls or the script need him to, he can bring his A-Game to the screen. Just that entire last time he was with his dad is proof Adam Sandler can make an audience laugh and then have their eyes water with sadness.

Sometimes wish I could not exist so my heart wouldn't have to break everyday.
i relate to that so much
Man, I feel you, but there's always time to turn things around, it's NEVER too late.
Love ya.
That's how mafia works
Damn dude, right in the feels, you can do it man! Just keep doing as much different stuff until you break the dam. And you're a little bit better/different. Rinse and repeat

This movie taught everyone a lesson
I really enjoyed this movie. Another great drama of his is, “Reign on me”. One of his greatest.
“Charlie, you know what happened to the boy who got everything he wanted?...He lived happily ever after”
No,
He died alone, a cold pathetic rich man with no friends no real connections to any of his loved ones
He wasted every moment he had with them to succeed
It doesn’t matter what you do in life
You don’t need to be rich or famous or successful
You just need to find people, and love them
Still good to be rich but, provides a good life for the family
Noooooo, everything he wanted? Meaning including his loved ones. . The way I see it. I want it.
I remember seeing this in theaters. My brother and I were holding back tears, but I could hear A LOT of soft crying and whimpers in the audence. One girl suddenly yelled out: WHYYYY?!?
Man, what a gut punch.
"All your dreams finally came true, huh, moron?"
Man, that hits hard. He finally realizes that all the success wasn't worth it after losing his family.
He said earlier in the film that when be becomes a success he'll hire a bunch of people to do all his work so that he'll spend more time with his family. I guess he got all caught up with the whole thing and it didn't work out.
I felt this in my chest 😞

never have i ever cried so hard from a movie scene in the comedy category. it really makes you think hard about how life can get to you.
The most unrealistic thing about this movie is the idea that shopping malls would even still be a thing in the future.
Obviously, we all have that moment in our lives we wish we could do things different, tell our past selves off for being so horrible, and be grateful for the people around us.
I’m not crying. You’re crying.

What absolutely gutted me, that I never realized until years later, was the sniffling. I thought it was coming from Michael, but it actually came from his dad.
