That was very satisfying to watch! My mouth LITERALLY dropped open when I saw the painted kitchen! It looks so good and so fresh. I bet you feel so much better being in your kitchen?! Great job!
It feels amazing! I’m so glad I finally just did it. So worth it! Someone gave me the idea to do some peel & stick tile in there & I’m thinking that’s a great idea. At some point I have to put in new flooring downstairs but thats not happening anytime soon, but I could do the peel n stick in the kitchen. 😃
It’s so true that you have to revisit things! Each time, there is something I’m ready to let go of, even though I wasn’t on my last round of decluttering. As for clothes, I recently heard a reminder that clothes are supposed to be made to fit your body and not the other way around. You are beautiful and you deserve to wear things that fit well, feel comfortable, and make you happy to reach for them. Full stop. 👍🏼😃
Again, this was a very satisfactory video😌 your kitchen looks so beautiful! About the clothes, Marie Kondo has a great way of thinking while decluttering. Every item in your closet has a purpose. Some will bring you joy and some will teach you something about yourself. About the bras, now you know that you should not buy stuff just because they’re on sale. You’ll find good deals in the future. Only buy things that you need. The bras thaught you that. So they had a purpose. Now you can let them go and be thankful for the lesson they taught. Don’t hold on to that feeling of shame/guilt any longer. You have been improving a lot during the last couple of weeks. I am very proud of you 😍 Looking forward to watching your next project! 💜
Thank you! I definitely am not going to buy things that don’t fit again. That sounded like a good idea at the time but now I learned my lesson, lol. Now they just taunt me🤣They will probably go soon. …The kitchen really feel great with the new paint. I want to find something to protect the shelf paint now that its new. Haven’t decided if I want to do anything sticky bc that can really ruin things worse than they protect as I’ve found out in the past. Maybe just try keep it clean 🤣Wow, what a concept🤪
You’re doing so good. Love how you talk yourself through the process. And great job on the kitchen. Having it brightened up will make you feel better. Tina did some good work ❤️
Thank you! Talking through things definitely helps me put things into perspective. The kitchen looks so much better just having a new coat of paint & the door pulls☺️
Tracy, one of your all-time best videos. The fresh white kitchen, amazing. Tina: “this may or may not be a brilliant idea.” 🤣. Im going to use that the next time I try something out of my comfort zone and just go ahead and do it. ❤️
Wow!! You did a great job! It wore me out just watching you! 🤣 You are doing amazing with decluttering! I have started... I dont have the stamina or the physical ability to do much at a time.. so today, I made myself get up after watching 1 video, and do something. It was mostly laundry and cleaning today, but I did add some clothes to donation bag.. yay me!! Tomorrow will be more of the same. I think I will make a post on my town's FB page to see if anyone is in need of the clothes. Hopefully that will work. 😊😊 Thank you for the motivation and the laughs! You and Tina make a great team!! 😂 ❤😘❤
It wore me out too! LOL. I passed out & slept for a whole day after that. It was worth it thought…Doing whatever you can, when you can is great! Its progress no matter what. Sometimes my back flares up & hurts to even do dishes so to do anything is an achievement. The main thing isn’t how much you do, just that you do. That sounds like a lot you did! Every bit counts! I’m glad we can make you laugh & give a bit of motivation ☺️😃🤩👍🏻
Finally gave myself permission last year to get rid of all of the clothes that don’t fit me except for like 7 or 8 items that I allowed myself because they were only just a little too small and very unique vintage . I put five trash bags of items in the eves and if I didn’t think of the items and I didn’t take them out. Several months later I had to just put the bags in the car and donate them without looking inside. It was really hard, because some of the things were vintage and very cool but the freedom that everything fits me in my closet has been worth it. Like amazingly worth it. I have lost some weight since and I’m starting to fit into the few things that I kept. But I still have no regrets for getting rid of all of that Excess small clothing. It made me feel like crap and represented failures. If I want to go get new things later on if my body becomes smaller, I know I will have fun going to the thrift store and finding new ones.
The clothes is 2nd to the art supplies for me but the fact that I’m down to just one (not full) bin of clothes in storage is amazing to me. I’m proud of that. I used to have a closet full & drawers & drawers full of clothes that don’t fit so this is a small miracle. The vintage thing is hard for me too but at some point I gotta just say byeeeee. 20-30 years is a looong time to hold onto something 🤣
WOMAN ❗️ it’s too bad the free paint didn’t work out, but you (& even Tina) deserved that new paint, after the work you put in. And what a difference! 😍 and a good declutter pile too 👏🏼👏🏼
I can use the free paint inside the lower cabinets. I wasn’t going to have enough to do 2 coats of the outside & inside of uppers plus the inside of the lowers so they didn’t get painted. Thats a project for a different day though😬 I’ve got to go through my bedroom closet next then will tackle those pantry shelves🥵 I am tired of looking at the clutter in those shelves. One thing at a time though👍🏻
Wow! Congrats to Tina. The kitchen looks fantastic. That door looks new. Send her to the thrift stores and she might find the shelving liner she was looking out. Agree about setting a deadline and letting things simmer. Good job.
Thank you! I’m going to Costco today so will be on the lookout there for something to line the shelves with possibly. I feel good about setting deadlines💪🏼Getting better!
This was so good and so satisfying. The kitchen looks so good. I understand Tina's frustration with going to a big box store for paint and supplies, but she stuck with it and got it done. You de-cluttered more stuff-that was great. Your de-clutter vs. keep-for-now compromises were very understandable and the right way to go. One suggestion: if you have another area to paint that is pretty bad, the fast and easy way to remove paint from shelves and trim and doors is with a heat gun and a putty tool. They average about $35-$45 in price. Great job and great video!😍
Thank you for the tip! I actually have a heat gun but didn’t even think of doing that. I feel like I’m getting better at putting time limits on this vs just shoving back into the closet. One step closer to out the door😬
Looking amazing! Progress over perfection! I definitely think patching up the door until you can get another one is the best way to go. Also if you can get the paint from Walmart it's cheaper. Do you have a habitat for humanity restore in your area? They have hidden treasures and usually get "new" items weekly. (Think goodwill for building materials and home goods). You can also use the paint in another area or add some pigment to change the color. 🤷♀️ I think that the clothes that don't fit need to go. They're sitting there taking up valuable space and messing with your emotions. Who needs the negative Nancy vibes? You are doing amazing! You are beautiful and talented! You are so blessed and making progress! Looking forward to seeing you choosing the path you want to walk one decision at a time when you're ready. 💯👍As always teamwork with your alter ego was entertaining!😂The new drawer pulls are so cute! Glad you two can agree!
I definitely agree that I need to get that hole patched. I was trying to get away with not but now that the door is painted I don’t like seeing that hole! Our Goodwill never has anything too great. I used to go often to check things out. I don’t know about the reseller - never thought of it, but can look into it. …Thank you so much for all the tips! I really appreciate the ideas.
WOW!!! Your kitchen looks so fresh and clean! It looks like you only need one shelf in the closet now since you decluttered so much. Maybe you can move it into your shed in the patio area so you have more space inside your closet? Can't wait for your next video! Aloha🌺
I’m going to try move some stuff off the pantry shelves into the closet because I’d rather not look at it downstairs anymore. Slowly but surely things will come together. Its already so much better than it was! I almost forget where it started out. 😃
Oh look at you !!! I was kinda right you painted 🎨 the door lol The kitchen is looking awesome 👌 🥰 and you decuttering in your closet super cool. Can't wait to see what is next
Hi Tracy, I was really hoping at some point you'd be painting in the kitchen. Great job! It looks so much fresher and cleaner. You're so right about revisiting items for decluttering...I am willing to get rid of so much more now.
I’m soooo glad I finally got to painting the kitchen 😃 it feels fantastic 🤩 I definitely find it gets easier to let things go the more I declutter. Its amazing ☺️
The kitchen looks so bright and fresh! Maybe you could install a metal door kick on the bottom of the door to cover up the hole, and it would be easier to clean?
That looks so much better! I wonder, if you're moving some of your grocery items into the upstairs closet, if you couldn't move the "quarantined" items downstairs in their place. But put it on your calendar to remember to check them after 6 months.
As soon as I declutter my bedroom closet I can think of how to reorganize stuff. Maybe the quarantine items can go into the shed with the other items I need to declutter in 6 months. My goal is to reduce from 2 shelves to one so I don’t want to add anything to them. I’m going to move grocery items into the now empty kitchen shelves so that will free up some space. I’m not sure yet how it will all pan out. I’m sure there are things I can declutter from those shelves too though. We shall see! 😃
Amazing job! I feel like you could clear more of the closet if you organized other areas of your home too! I'm thinking that bookshelf in your living room that's almost empty could hold a basket with the movies/dvd's as well put any books you have on it! If you don't want to look at all the colours of the books turn them around so the white pages are facing out - I've seen that trick used by a few people who like neutrals throughout their homes :)
The book idea is really good! Why hadn’t I thought of turning them around? Seems simple enough, lol. I’m going to declutter my bedroom closet & then I can start on those pantry shelves. I’m so tired of looking at all the clutter on those shelves! Its definitely a work in progress 😬
Tracy & Tina loved this video! Refresh the kitchen looks so much better! Tracy u r getting Soo much better at decluttering! I want more! Maybe some peel& stick tile on the floor at some point. I laughed 3 Caulking tubes trash that is one way to declutter 😂 Caulking. Shelf liner will look nice. Tracy the hole in the door can u just nail a board over and paint? At least it would cover the hole😊 again love the switch from declutter to Refresh
I’m hitting my bedroom closet next for decluttering. The donation pick up is tomorrow so its on a deadline! I’ve got way more stuff going out than I expected 😃Super excited about that! Eventually I need to put new flooring throughout the entire downstairs but that isn’t happening anytime soon so yes, some peel & stick tile is probably a really good idea. It wouldn’t cost much to do and would look a thousand times better than it does now!
@@TracyAkamine oc, it sure did! not the neatest but similar items are grouped together and, MAGICALLY, more space there ;) ps- waiting for another video! :)
I gotta figure out something. I was thinking woody putty but idk. Probably should just get a new door & trim. Your idea at least plugs the hole for the time being🤦🏽♀️
