You have no idea what an inspiration you are to us all. It has nothing to do with hoarding, but to take care of self, go at your own pace, and pat yourself on the back! You are amazing, Tracy!!!
Thank you! In addition to changing life long cluttering habits I’m also working on changing the habit of not giving myself enough credit or props. It’s all a learning process. Thank you for being on this journey with me😊
Thank you! I couldn't get ahead of the mess until I did what you were doing. Now when I say it is really good to take extra items where they belong. My house is done and my key take away is to put items where they belong or make a home for it. I ended up finding 10 tape measures. Then I showed the other mess maker that I'm married to for 45 years. When he saw 10 tape measures, he agreed to put things where they belonged too. Good luck on your journey. I subscribed so I can cheer you along your way.
Thank you so much! I’m so happy to have you here with me😊 The first time I decluttered my tools I found out how many screwdrivers I had. It was over 20 I think😬 I also had a bunch of tape measure, lol. Tons of nail clippers etc. I still need to organize & make real homes for everything but I’m still decluttering & figure the less stuff I have, the easier it will be to organize. It’s definitely a marathon not a sprint. I’m so encouraged to hear you got it done! Thank you again for watching & subscribing💗
You are doing a great job. One shelf at a time works. Getting started os the important thing. And as you get one space clean, it will help spur you on to doing more. I agree with taking things to their "home" right away. Putting things in a box or pile to move "later" doesn't work for some of us. Keep up the good work. You are an inspiration!
GREAT job, Tracy!! I think it is so important to complete tasks in short sessions. It gives us a feeling of accomplishment and not overwhelm. Things don't have to be ALL done NOW! That burns us out. We have to give ourselves permission to stop and be done! Keep up your great work. I am getting there with resetting our spare bedroom renovation.
Thanks! And yes, it really helps to complete tasks in short sessions. It builds your confidence & you don’t feel defeated if you don’t get as much done as you planned because you bit off more than you could chew. I’m learning. My dad always said I was “hard headed” so I guess it takes me a minute to figure out how to do things in a better way😝
You have come so far, you deserve a crown yourself! (not just Tina) I'm so happy for you. The mindset shift is huge, but you're right it takes time and work to really create the change. Onwards and Upwards 👆. Can't wait for the next one, so motivating and it's so inspiring to watch your journey 👏👏👏
Thank you! Sometimes I think that I don’t have much left to declutter out of my house but then reality sets in🤣 It’s so much more manageable now compared to the beginning though. Cleaning is also SOOOO much easier with less junks all around!
Great Job. If you let the Paper Labels of the big jars Soak in water they are going to fall of by them self. So it looks less cluttered and isnˋt as overwhelmimg for the eyes.
Awesome job. That was a very nice pantry de-clutter and clean-up. I am glad to see you consciously making the effort to keep going forward in staying organized and clutter-free. I enjoyed watching the video.
I appreciate how real you are. Taking breaks when needed even if it turned into 2 days. I’ve had so many times in my life where I try to finish it all right away but then reality kicks in and I can’t do it all in one day. I just subscribed! You’re amazing. I’ll be watching your videos all the time now💜
Thank you! & thank you for subscribing 💗 I was so ambitious when I started & eager to get decluttered that I ended up overwhelming myself needlessly. That being said, I’m so glad I’ve gotten as far as I have. It honestly surprises me that a year & a half after starting my decluttering journey on UA-cam I’m still at it! When I started I kinda figured I’d do it for a couple months & quit, lol. But here I am! Still at it🥳
I needed to hear this today! one shelf at a time and let yourself take a break. I love the idea of putting it all where it goes so that there is no mess at the end. Great job!
I’m so glad my video helped you today💗 It really is important to allow yourself to take a break, even if it lasts longer than you expected as long as you are committed to keep going. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. 😊
Yay! Success is a wonderful thing. Small steps add up over time. One thing I recently noticed was since I’ve been decluttering and tidying my little art studio it almost seems like there’s too much space. This morning I went in there and was struck with the sensation of too much space. As if I need it to be crammed full. Thankfully was able to tell myself I’m ok with space. There’s still so much to go through. I love your videos. Thank you for posting today.
Success is definitely a wonderful thing! I’m making it a new habit to appreciate all my wins no matter how small. I understand the feeling of wanting to fill up spaces. I’ve come to appreciate and actually crave OPEN space. I never used to be bothered by all my clutter but now I get annoyed when things start getting cluttered up. I don’t always jump on decluttering it right away but the fact that it bothers me is actually PROGRSS🤣
Your shelves look awesome! I always think just one or two, I'll wait to wash it or put it away... all of a sudden it's like that area explodes and I get so crabby about it! Yet I did it to myself. 🙄 I still hear my fathers voice 30+ years later, "Don't put it down, put it away." 🤨😄
So much progress! You are doing great! Sometimes I get crazy with myself when I realize the true junk is sitting in the best locations of my home, and instead the "pretty stuff" is hidden in a drawer. Going to work on that today. Thanks for your inspiration!
Thank you! I was surprised by the fact that literally nothing in that white basket in the kitchen needed to be there🤦🏽♀️I’m not even sure how it all ended up there. I really want to start organizing things more but not quite ready for that yet.
Hey Tracy! We need more videos from you! I’m doing a MAJOR clean out/decluttering myself with hints/tips from you. I ask myself - what would Tracy say? You’re the BEST!!!
That was so much. Great job 👏 👍 also not sure if you want stickers off 🤔 but if you do, put Mayonnaise over them and let them sit for about 30 minutes, which comes off pretty easily then 😉
Thank you! I definitely do want to take all those labels off but couldn’t figure out how. I got several other suggestions. Using vegetable oil works too I heard. Since I have a big vat of coconut oil I’ll probably try that first. 👍🏼
I definitely appreciate your sharing! For food storage you can also cut out directions and put it in the container. Don't forget to add expiration dates. 👍
Yes! I do cut out instructions & put the expiration date on the back of the card usually. I actually realized after I had already posted the video that I should have shown that. Next time😊
Make a paste with baking soda and oil, any kind, baby oil, expired or inexpensive cooking oil. Leave it on for a while (I leave it overnight) and then remove by rubbing with kitchen roll (paper towel). Use on glass only, as baking soda will scratch plastic surfaces. For plastic use oil only.
Thank you! Speaking of the patio- I was just out there the other day to help cut down the overgrown grass (filmed it of course). The patio & storage shed clean out is high on the priority list. I really need to get the bathtub scrubbed & redo the caulking ASAP though. That will probably be first since it’s rainy this week. Soon though (I hope😬). Stay tuned!

The piano teacher I had when I was 9 told me “Don’t put it down, put it away”. 40 years later I’m still learning to implement the concept🤣🤣🤣
@@TracyAkamine Yup, the rebellious teen still comes out in me when I hear my dad say it. Ha!

@@TracyAkamine I forgot about the expiration date on my spice jars. 🤦♀️Expensive lesson learned.
Keep up the good work..❤

Wow! Great job and great tips!!
Thanks so much!😃
Easy way to remove labels on jars, use a hair dryer, it will peel right off😊
Make a paste with baking soda and oil, any kind, baby oil, expired or inexpensive cooking oil. Leave it on for a while (I leave it overnight) and then remove by rubbing with kitchen roll (paper towel). Use on glass only, as baking soda will scratch plastic surfaces. For plastic use oil only.
Thank you for the tip!!! I was totally thinking about how I could get all the labels off the jars as I was washing them.
I’m going to try that!!!!! Thank you🤩
Great job! I like that you took breaks before the sections. I hope you can get your patio pretty before summer comes, it has so much potential :)
