in this video i do an in depth tutorial on how i went about upgrading my instrument cluster in my 2010 w204 c300 pre facelift to a 2013 facelift instrument cluster successfully
with the help of a fellow sunscriber and friend
i was able to get it all to work
what happened...
bought a CLUSTER used 180aud
sent to friend to be virginized 3weeks to bulgaria
3 weeks back
plugged in old cluster
connected with friend via teamviewer
friend copied cluster info from old cluster
installed new facelift cluster
cycled through key functions, car off close door, lock, unlock, first position
then we reconnected via teamviewer and friend proceeded to code my cluster for my car
everything works as intenmded and looks great
main point is that
u may need to do this virginzing of the cluster oer else your car will not read or sync with the new cluster
eventho ppl have said they have just installed and typed in code for instrument cluster , this did not work for me
just be aware u may need to do what i did

Thank you for showing how to take the cover off the cluster! I have been hesitating to take out my cluster to clean on the inside of the plastic cover…but now I have to since it looks so easy!

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ You have the 2 triangles for ABS + ESP and the 2 arrows for the turn signals left in the background, because you are using the plastic from the old cluster. These are useless now, as the new turn signals and abs/esp messages are digital inside the new cluster rings :)

Great retrofit video. Not sure if you got the additional AMG menu option programmed in as well. You should do a video on that if you get the chance.
No AMG Menu on this specific cluster, because you will get the AMG Logo on start up instead of the colored car (which Mikey wanted).

I was looking for the details of your Bulgarian friend, it would have been great if you would have left his details in the description. I have a 2011 e350 diesel which could use an instrument cluster upgrade, currently the cluster has an issue where the clock is spinning always and stops for 10 seconds and does the spinning thing again. Do you happen to know if we need to code the cluster apart from transferring the ODOMETER readings? I am sure simple OBD scanners can update the mileage easily
a simple obd2 scanner can't u need a a pretty descent one usually costing about 3 to 500 ..although u can buy a device strictly for that ... I might just add it to the description..and yes u do need to code the cluster or else the fuel gauge may not work ... and coding the cluster basically involves virgininsing the cluster to make it think its new and therefore cam transfer over the odometer from your older cluster
..all this works 100 % ,

When you had your cluster out did you not consider giving it a light sanding and changing the colour in the past I have spray painted surround of a cluster and the paint talk very well so much so that a guy I was looking at it one day thought I was after buying it just thought bro
never considered it ..I did consider wrapping it in carbon fiber

I use it to learn coding ... u can buy one via aliexpress I'll leave link in the video so u can buy it..do not get ripped off and buy local for like 200 etc all u need is the cheap 20 dollar one from aliexpress ... I've linked them in the video description

Great. I did similar retrofit in my W204. Almost everything works except fuel consumption . Is it working on your cluster ?

On new instrument cluster i didnt see turn indicators and triangle lights, does it works?
and when upgraded cluster, maybe there are few unlocked extras in settings which u didnt get with pre fl cluster?

Hey Mikey I watched the whole video and appreciate you but can you explain what would happen if I don’t get the coding and just buy one off eBay? Do it show you how fast your going still ? I rarely use any other function on the cluster unless an error message pops up or something , I just want to know if the gas mileage work and the speed that’s ur going ,
depends I used one off a diesel model and it was from us so it showed mph not kph and everything worked..but wen I changed to a petrol one the fuel gauge didn't work
and there's no milage... I believe the speed works but not the fuel ..song won't know wennur out of fuel

@TienBuilds it won't show until u code it .. and fuel gauge might not work either..it will show how fast ur going..bug u won't.know the overall mile's travelled..odometer won't work... if ur lucky u might get a cluster that still shows fuel gauge and speed but wen I got my 2nd one fuel gauge didn't work
is it plug in and every info will be transfer automatically? or do you need to remap/coding it or setting it to get your original millage
did u watch the video? i specifically say it's not plugged and play u need to have it coded to ensure milage is transferred over and fuel gauge will work
Hi mate ! Can you help Me with more Information about how make upgrade cluster !? I have c200 2008 And i want make upgrade cluster ANd steering wheel !
theres alot of info on the net about how its done . u need the parts .. and its different for everyone..some ppl have successfully upgraded wheels and clockspring with plug and play parts but some like myself need rewiring for the steering wheel to work .. i bought a rewired custom steering wheel ... and as for cluster it has ro be virginised then codee to your car.. someone helped me with mine .. i was fortunate
What about error messages (ex. light bulb) or other info (ex. washer fluid). Does it show up normally? I'm just wondering if this facelift cluster is still showing all the info as it should and if the connection with the ECU is still normal.
yes all normal it gets coded to ur car

I also want to do this update, but I am not sure if it's important if the facelift cluster comes from a car with manual or automatic transmission. Mine is automatic, and I've found a cluster that comes from a manual transmission. Is this relevant?

I have question, I have c300 2011 and I’m going to buy a used cluster which have 150k miles on it, so my question if I plug that cluster to my car right away after I receive so what’s gonna happen? Do the miles will be 150k or will be the old miles on my car and will it work or do I need to program it, thanks 🙏🏼

not too sure .. u may need to compare the shape and size ..if it looks the same then most likely will fit

no on w204 but u can update the w203 to later model if u find the right one must be same connector for example 3pin to 3pin not 3 pin to 4pin

I bought used for 175 aud
cost me 50 to ship to my friend who code for me
then he ship back to me for 50usd + custom tax
and then he coded for me for free
so total about 250 to upgrade in Australia...
some ppl say u can just buy and put in and code urself.. but as stated I couldn't do that it didn't work
new cluster is about 350 to 500 that's brand new

u do it using your radio unit stereo .and it will also change the cloxk on your cluster ..they sync with each other

Mine isn’t showing RPM’s. It just stays on zero. Anyone got any ideas? Was considering doing a chip swap with the old cluster into the new if it fits?
that's how they do it wen doing a chip swap many have done it
