Dude! I'm in Nazareth - we do a Monday night gravel roll out of my place every week with burgers and beers after. 25-ish miles at 13-ish mph. D&L, Norbath, etc. Hit me up if interested!
I've got a few hundred miles on my R5 and here's a mini review:
1. Bike is solid and a great value. Get One!
2. I'm 5'11" - Handlebars on my Medium were pitifully narrow for gravel (38mm) and stem (80mm) was way too long. Replaced with a 60mm stem ($20) and a pair of Richey Comp Beacon Gravel Bars 46mm wide ($54) - cured!
3. Stock seat is so-so - 143mm wide - Replaced with Brooks Cambrium C17 (156mm wide) - fixed!
4. Stock front chainring is 38T and made of the thickest, heaviest steel on the planet (who does that?!)! Replaced with a $12 alloy chainring off Amazon and my mind feels soooo much lighter....
5. Stock Tires are really good WTB Ventures - no complaints on gravel. Most of my rides are half pavement and light gravel so fitted a set of American Classic Kimberlites (47mm) and now it's a bit faster. (American Classics are only sold on Amazon but are outstanding and cheap $35-$45 ea) I'd put the Ventures back on for an all day gravel grind where pavement isnt a factor.
Really, I think the bike is a bar/stem swap away from being an absolute beast. Seats, tires, etc. are all personal preference anyway..... Get one - you won't regret it.
Hell yeah if I'm ever free on a Monday night I'd join in!
We basically made all the same swaps. I'd suggest swapping out the entire crankset/bottom bracket because it is AWFUL.

Crazy lol I'm in lehighton, this is how I get down to the valley for things like doctor's appointments, seeing family, visiting friends, eating Spanish food...
That section through caddy where you have to get off the trail and ride through darktown on the road is absolute BS man and it is still like that

Awesome to see a new video on this bike! Been looking for my first gravel bike but also one that will do well on the road. How do you rate this one versus a revolt 2, diverge e5 or topstone 1 all around the same price range?
You definitely get more bang for the buck with the GRX drivetrain and the dropper post on the polygon! Those alone were worth it over other bikes for me.
