I love to watch the transformation of your clay from buff to fired with the slip decoration having just the right amount of contrast.

Beautiful work as usual. I always wanted to get into bonsai. Such a beautiful artform. Closest I've gotten was building a Lego set. Maybe one day, I'll try my hand at the real thing.

Thank you. If you can find the right materials nearby, bonsai is quite easy to start. Please give it a try!

so lovely with the maple sprout planted! looks really beatiful. so the glaze you are using is usually not a clear glaze but a less opaque color glaze? i find it so perfect how it has a bit of color but the white stamped flowers still peek through. really different from what i usually see potters do these days

      Thank you.
Depending on the piece, the glaze I am using this time is highly transparent. Since the raw material includes wood ash, it contains a small amount of iron, giving it a greenish hue.

Pottery and Bonsai, which Im both very fond of, combined in one video, amazing.
The glaze turned out very pretty! Out of interest, what type of wood was used for the ash? Regards

      Thank you.
The ash used in the wood types comes from burning various kinds of wood. I use the ash that has been burnt in a climbing kiln, which is then washed and refined.

A beautiful video thank you, I do so look forward to your video’s. I really like your daisy stamps, I was wondering if the slip on Bisqueware is okay for a oxidation firing with a clear glaze over it?

@@melrussell7830 You can formulate slip to fire at the temperature and atmosphere in which you work. If you fire mid range oxidation in an electric kiln, there is a slip recipe for that range.

@@avermontlifethank you for your comment, I do use slip on greenware, but I didn’t think that it would work on just Bisqueware with oxidation firing 😊

Thank you! Yes, you can do oxidation firing over them. If you apply white slip over bisque ware, you need to make sure you apply glaze before the slip is completely dry; otherwise, the slip might fall off. I'll also mention it in the video, thanks.
