Varenna is beautiful but pretty sleepy, though there are restaurants to eat at. Bellagio is slightly bigger and a little more active. Have a great trip. It's such a beautiful area.

We're going this May, my husband has family (which we don't know) near Dongo. His grandpa came from this area back in 1911. It will be fun to see where his family came from. Not sure you know but they caught Mussolini in Dongo trying to escape to Switzerland.

I don't remember. Maybe a few hours. It was an easy travel day.
The fast train is an hour, the slow trains are ~2 hours.
