Martin Axenrot shines so much on this one. No pun against Martin Lopez, he was an excellent fit behind the drums for many years, but - pretty unexpected - this "new" guy established himself as an enormous upgrade to his predecessor, keeping even the slower and quieter parts not just interesting but also in the mood of the theme. his fills and his cymbal work are insane.

one of my favorite Opeth tracks
My favorite older Opeth song. The contrasting sections and heavy sinister sounding guitar - just love love.
The quiet part after the wonderful guitarsolo. Love it! And the outro is really powerful. What a great song.
yah, great album. I plan to revisit it and do some more in depth analysis
This album is so magnificent!
