Andy, you are always saving my job with your videos...this is just freaking simple and yet so awesome (even though it is an old post)! You have changed my career path for sure! ALL THE SUCCESS in your life !!! Cheers from a BIG fan!
This is great - However i have some numbers in both the upper and lower levels that utilize negative values. When negative values are provided then the lower level stops at the 0 and the remainder of the band is not provided. Is there a way to do this same thing and utilize values that are less than zero?
Hi Andy This is great - but is there a way of having multiple shaded confidence intervals that overlap on one chart? I would like to plot mortality rates for different causes or age groups over time, with shaded confidence intervals which overlap. I need to use my own confidence interval limits as I have calculated them using poisson distribution in STATA (rather than using the in built confidence interval feature in tableau). Any suggestions ? I have not had any luck on the tableau community forum Thanks Joe
Hi Andy, Firstly, thank you for the above video. Although I am a new tableau user, I was able to achieve what I wanted with my data. Can you please tell how can I plot multiple lines with shaded confidence interval band? Your reply means a lot to me. I am really struggling with this one Thank you
@@vizwiz I have seen this question posted on many sites but has not been answered yet. I guess there are a lot more people struggling with the same thing and would benefit from your knowledge. I hope you reply with a solution. Thank you
I'm trying to do this in Tableau 10.5 (not sure if it makes a difference), but I get an issue when my lower band drops below 0. The result is that there are gaps in the areas in parts of the graph where the lower band transitions between positive and negative. This is because the area graph for the upper band will start from 0, when the lower band is negative, rather than starting from the lower band value. Is there a way to resolve this?

Thanks a lot. All your examples are wonderful.

I really need help . How can I smooth the line and band?
Excellent video, thank you
Thanks, Andy. It's really helpful!
Do you know how to add a scatter plot based on the line and confidence bands? I mean combine three types of charts?
Great ! Thanks ! And how to proceed if this curve is declined according to a categorical variable ?
I’m not sure. I haven’t tried it.
On 9:00-9:02, the Lower Band can't seem to capture area below 0. Is there a way to overcome this?
Is that confidence band can be removed?

This is a good question for the forums.

what if some negative number happened?

I hadn't thought of how to solve that. If you find a solution, can you post it as a comment please?
