Useful my old one leaked but I've fixed it. 1970;s isolation valves seized up. I couldn't work out what those other two pipes were! Now solved, going to bin one day got a merus ring too.
Can I ask if it's mandatory to have a 20mm air gap on the drain to avoid any sewage contamination on sewage back flow?
You have connected this straight to an appliance drain with no air gap. Cheers.

Is it ok to install a water softener in the loft if you’re wanting to soften the upstairs bathrooms and showers ? The boiler also takes its feed from the loft tanks.

Great video on how to install a water softener. What is the need for a discharge pipe and overflow pipe though? Would be nice to know the basic inner workings of one of these.

Possibly a dumb question, but can I use a large bucket/ container for the drain? My cold inlet is now in the centre of the house, in a cupboard. The kitchen is the extension at the bacjk of the house. Can I house one of these in the cupboard, and then empty out the container as needed? What sort of volume of waste is drained, say weekly?

I am getting a water softener installed at the mains, so can you please let me know where the home boost to be installed is it before the water softener or after. And also please suggest me the best pump as I have a water sharing to two properties and on top of it I have a LEAD pipe running to the property.

If The Softener Is Installed Under The Kitchen Sink Can It Still Soften The Water In The Whole Two Storey 4 Bedroom House? Can The Inlet Hoses And Outlet Hoses That Connect To The Main Water Pipe Come In Length Of 20ft / 30ft ?

how do i know which install kit I need, like 15mm or 22mm?
I disconnected my water softener because it impeded the water pressure throughout the house except for the kitchen cold water tap. Research led me to believe that a 22mm inlet and outlet was necessary for the water sortener. I cleaned out the device too without success. Not sure whether it’s the device or the pipe width. Any ideas.

+Ugis Roga It needs to be piped up and requires no special parts on the water softener. Tell your plumber what you want. PP

That drain off should be above the water meter otherwise u can draw water off before the meter lol

I'm not sure what installation kit to use. All pipes under kitchen sink are 15mm and same in bathroom. However, we have and unvented pressurized tank in the loft which seems to have 22mm pipes going in and out. There must be a 15mm/22mm conveesion somewhere.

plumberparts :Yes, under kitchen sink. All pipes are 15mm and there is already stop vavles installed as previous house owners had a water softener. I don'tbwant to lose any pressure from my hot water. Appreciate your help.

I soften my water by playing a clip from fast and furious when paul walker dies every time i turn on the tap. The water starts to cry like a baby.
