An interesting question; ultimately there's a dynamic to circuit racing and road racing, however, this dynamic isn't necessarily the same between both disciplines. It has happened before however with McGuinness seeing success in endurance racing with the TT legends team.
some of them do cross over to circuits like BSB or SBK, on rare occasions to Motogp as well. The calculations of a road racer are way different. Its mostly about 5th and 6th gear and not necessarily slowing down on corners all the time. some of the corners at the TT are taken flat..
