Hi Tim, thank you so much for this review. I’d gone through several videos extolling the virtues of these heads and how quiet they were but your video is the only one that gave me what I was looking for: a phone recording! I record all my practices with my iphone13 so it was super helpful to hear what it sounded like through yours. Everyone else seemed intent on showing the intonation of these drum heads, using room-mics etc but I thought that defeated the purpose simply because the heads were given a studio environment treatment, versus a ‘room-in-your-house’ one-such as I your video. Based on your recommendations, I will probably be buying these for use in my apartment while I’m in between studios. Thanks again!
You are very welcome! I do gear reviews to help people and what’s the point of only demoing a studio mic’d set up environment only. Bottom line most people want to have some kind of idea what the heads will sound like in their home. So I’m really glad I was able to help you. They are good so you can’t go wrong picking them up! ☝️
sorry but I did not understand one thing: did you add any other trigger to EAD (for toms, bassdrum etc) or were the cached by the EAD integrated mics? if so, did you upload the low volume scenes from the yamaha site? do you think it could works with other thinner 1 layer mesh like remo ones? thank you very much
Nice review! Gives a good idea of sound and also volume in the room. Two questions: Is it louder then for example Remo SilentStrokes? And do you have the snare wires on or off?
Thanks very much! I think it’s a bit louder than remo silentstrokes as the silent stroke isn’t actually sitting on the shell very strongly. But it’s still pretty quiet compared to actual snare. Snare wires were on the whole video!
@@drumteacher43 I can’t afford the Zils but I’ve seen good reviews of low volume WHD cymbals. As I only play at home for pleasure, that’s enough for me. I want the Evan’s snare and a mix of Remo and other LV mesh heads for the rest.

Appreciate you sharing... The Snare sounds better than other videos I have watched

Thanks for the demo bro
No problem my pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Great drumming and love the Evans dB heads!
Thanks very much and yes I like them too!

No extra triggers all from EAD10 mic only. Did not upload any low volume scenes. Used scenes that are already loaded on it.
Are the heads more bouncy like remo silent strokes? or do they feel true to regular heads?
Not as bouncy as silent strokes. Definitely closer to real heads feel.
@@drumteacher43 il have to give them a try thanks!
Yeah, they are good you will enjoy them!
Yes nice and quiet even though you change the scenes, what does it sound like through the headphones?
Sounds good through the headphones louder than live in the room but still quiet!

05:21 begins the playing...
You can also use trigger the drums with the Yamaha EAD10
Yes you can your are correct. Thanks
nice! what r u recording with?
Yamaha EAD10 mic and trigger
These are going to save me a fortune. Just changing the heads and cymbals is better than selling the entire kit and buying a digital kit.
Absolutely!! Glad I could help! Keep the acoustic kit and get these heads and either Evans or zildjian low volume cymbals and your good! 😎
