@@gerrelloxendine2355 I guess what I'm saying is I don't think you'd have a story where the bad guy is black and the protagonist is white. I feel like nowadays it would be the Latino and the black guy versus the evil white guy

I completely disagree with the read on the Gloria character. She was a disloyal user. I haven’t even watched this movie in years but this is something that I caught on too watching it when it back in the day. She was low key a piece of sht lol.
She was the reason that the Stucci bros were on her and Billy’s head in the first place. Billy was supposed to throw a game to get them off a hook that she put ‘em on. She got into debt with the Stucci’s on some hard-headed sht. Billy was riding for her the whole movie. She was saying that he was blowing “our money” but really he was the only one earning. They was on the run living off of his hustle money. It was his bread. She wasn’t working and didn’t make nann jump shot. Billy would mess up but overall he held her down and put her in position to win. Soon as she won and got up with the jeopardy bread she cut dude off with the quickness.
The only thing that stops her from blatantly being exposed as a pos is the plot-hole of Billy not telling her how she got on Jeopardy. He obviously would’ve told her in his bid to win her back. They both were obviously in debt to Sydney and that little $2grand he needed to get in the King-Duck game after having his home invaded would’ve been the least she could’ve done.
Come on y’all. Billy had to go to the hood and beg other men to get her on then still had to hit a hook shot from behind half court. What she ever do for him besides treat him like a loser the whole movie then cut him off the second she came up because he didn’t want to go get a little bs corporate job that they didn’t even need?

I dont think Sydney planned on getting revenge on Billy at first, but after they hustled Raymond and his partner, they had words in the car before dropping Sydney off. Sydney was just being Sydney, but he got under Billy's skin making the remarks how white people can't listen to Jimmy Hendrix, they only hear him. When Sydney jumps out of Billy's car he compliments Billy by saying Gloria is a good woman, but Billy responds as if Sydney wanted Gloria in a sexual way. When Billy continues to assault Syndey's character by saying he'd rather look good and lose than look bad and win, now Sydney's becoming upset. When Billy grabs Sydney's chain asking how many meals that chain set his family back, Sydney had to catch himself and just laughed it off. At that moment, Sydney decided that he was going to hustle Billy when he told him to meet him in Watts tomorrow for another game.

Stop acting like 1992 is the stone ages!!! People played with flair in the late 70s! We had Julius Erving, Magic Johnson, hell...Michael Jordan almost had 10 years in the NBA by 92. Lastly, Wesley Snipes is an athlete, but not in basketball. He is a martial artist. However, his athleticism made him LOOK like a real player. It's the same as when he was in "Major League". He's not a baseball player, but he's an athlete AND an actor. So there you have it.

I've made a comment of disgust every episode even though I still like the show. The Wesley Snipes is "neck and neck" with Denzel "Mfing" Washington is just blasphemous, sacrilegious, and egregious. Then the fact that they're constantly giving Wesley props on his basketball skills is just as bad. Sidney Dean is universally recognized as the WORST BASKETBALL PLAYER IN MOVIE HISTORY 🤦🤦 Wesley is on record saying he can't hoop. That shit was all camera work and the shit didn't help that much
