I remember that season with Soriano. Jim Kaat often repeated how he believed that Soriano physically reminded him of a young Hank Aaron.
The Giambi grand slam was so good, I'll never forget that one, I was a kid and my parents let me stay up past my bedtime as we listened to it on the radio lol
That “when josh Donaldson backflips” line. 😂
My favorite walkoff hit is John Flaherty off the redsox Jul 1,2004. The game Jeter dove into the stands. The peak of the Yankee/Red Sox rivalry.
We came to be familiar with the broadcasters from the 90s, Michael Kay, John Sterling.... and they are still going, looking for another championship with the Yankess in the 20s. Their voices definitely have changed over the 30 years. I remember the 15 inning ALDS from Jim Leritz, I was supposed to have another exam in the next day, but couldn't get my eyes off the TV.
I’ve got 2 honorable mentions.
A-Rod’s walk off grand slam against the Orioles on April 7th, 2007.
A-Rod’s walk off home run against Cleveland on April 19th, 2007.
1996-2001 Yanks were hard to beat
I'm having a terrible flu. This video makes me feel much better :)
Feel better soon!
2:33 July 20th 2009 I was at that game. It was my first Yankee game. I'll never forget the roar of the crowd when Matsui hit that walk off. Great memory.
🗽🗽🗽 good video Derek.
Love the montage. Do we have footage of walk off home runs from the 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s,? Gotta be some great ones from the Babe, Joe D, Mickey, Yogi,
There’s footage of mantle’s walk off in game 3 of the 1964 WS.
Great video. Love seeing them. Never get tired of it.
This a fine, well-edited list. Might I humbly add this one: August 8th, 2000. Bary Zito tormented the Yankees over 8 innings, and the A's led 3-2 going into the bottom of the 9th inning. Art Howe brought Jason Isringhousan to face the heart of the Yankee order. On the very first pitch, the sweet swing of Bernie Williams lifted everyone's spirits as he crushed a line drive over the right field wall.
Then, on the very next pitch, David Justice tattooed a soaring fly ball into the right-center field bleachers.

Watch carefully after Justice hits the ball. A bleacher creature catches it in his beer mug! 🍺 🤣
I was at this game, it was nuts. Barely had a chance to catch our breath after Bernie when Justice hit the next pitch out. Two pitches, game over. I was going to post this one if someone else didn't. Would have been perfect for this list. Thanks for posting the link.
Then Clint Frazier(now Jackson Frazier)had 2 walk offs. He had a 2nd 1 on 6/21/21 against the Rays
I miss Gardy Party
First like
Is a new one going to be the Rookie Oswaldo Cabrera against the Twins?
