  • This video is a look at the Nova Orion DVR Lathe and the beginning of my journey with this tool. This thing was on backorder for 10 MONTHS before it shipped to me. I have to say it was a long wait but well worth it! I am exceedingly happy with this lathe and hope to share a lot of projects that I make with it. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

I have the original Nova/ Record power DRV-XP lathe and i love it, still going strong, the power loss compensation feature can't be beaten.

I have had a Nova Orion for about 2 years. I do mostly bowls and containers. Very little spindle work. So far the lathe has performed very well and I am very happy with it. However I find the audible warnings annoying and unnecessary. I wish there was someway to delete them. I also wish the ON/Off buttons were more tactile. Otherwise, a very good lathe.

I can definitely see the value of disabling the audible warnings as I use the tool more and more. I do also find a small hiccup with the On button sometimes...I find myself having to hold the button a little longer than I would expect for it to turn on. Thank you for stopping by and checking out the video! Cheers!

Unfortunately, wait until you have an issue and you need to get help from teknatool, parent company, they are horrible I’m sorry to say. It took me 3 weeks of calling every day just to get ahold of anyone. Non existent customer service…
