A man is trying to save independant garage services and rightly so. It would be a dire shame for these companies to die out run by experts who actually know what they're talking about like yourselves Al/Fudge.
Al, great job shouting out the local manufacturers.
Very interesting to hear about Simon and his Clutches. Does make you wonder why they don’t buy a simple website to promote their business. Doesn’t need to be fancy… or even a Facebook business page
They do in fact have both a website and a facebook page.
"they may not be able to hear you as you have no microphone on"....that i think was Al telling fudgy to stop talking.😂. .comedy gold these fellas.
It’s a great day when a 6D Diesels video is released! My favourite automotive channel on UA-cam
A man of knowledge here, can wait to see who else u know in small workshops
6D DIESELS THE BEST PROGRAM ON UA-cam WE WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR CONTENT. FROM TERRY AND HAZEL IN THE UK
Love an instructional video. Hope the lady enjoys Glastonbury and maybe go a couple of weeks before that's back again 😂😂
Good evening Al & Fudgy 😊 Great shout out for an independent garage 👍🏻 What a great show me how to change a LT gearbox 🤩 I’m sure anyone watching this could do it no problem 😊 What a shame about that output shaft but the right call was swap it out 👍🏻
Great work, love the ability to support local specialists
Great video and what a great idea showcasing local specialists such as the clutch company, I look forward to that video too.
After 40 years, I finally have access to a garage with a 4 post lift. It also has heating. How I miss the great outdoors.
Had a Sprinter with 1.4 million kilometers on the clock in for a clutch last week - not its first... another in today with just over 500k on the clock - amazingly, first time to be changed. Original out, new in. Flywheel too. Kit was over a grand... I could do with a Simon in my life..
Love old scohool engineering companies used to be loads. It would recon prop shafts and starters but most have died off
Love the messing around videos, love the "look ive bought treasure" videos, love the will it start videos, love the project videos but especially love the how to videos
Was it just me when at the start Al had his arms out wide and I was waiting for the good old Tadah saying but nothing. We even got to see a good old drop test on the new parts. Fantastic idea to giving a bit of air time to the guys who can fabricate clutches. As you say people with these kind of skills need preserving and using. Great safety tips at the end too advising about hand brake being on when jacked up on axel stands when tightening bolts up.
yeah big up simon and his clutches, keep them companies like simon's going!!!!!were all gona need em at sum point.i love 6d diesels videos too!!
I'm a great believer in paint marking every bolt/ nut I undo when doing clutches or anything that takes a load/ is important (steering, suspension, sump plugs) that way I know I've done it up tight.
Great support for the local business, well done.
Cannot wait for that tour am hoping you're gonna drive there on a private road in 1 of the treasure vehicles you've acquired
I had a MK2 Transit prop break free on me, left in the tarmac a furrow like a lion crawling across the desert with a hardon and gave the underside some absolute whacking. Was a garage's fault who hadn't put back in the clips into the UJ and well it worked itself out big time. No warning either, no build up clunking just one minute pottering along as one does in their LWB transit and next sounded like the world was ending /sigh
I've used Precision over next to the pub turned Indian restaurant in Henstridge, do a decent job and also for brake shoe linings too :) My friends brother owns the car showroom just before the old railway bridge on the blind crest there, used to be good for cheapum baccium...
Great show, love the way you just pull a gearbox oot yer arse. Waste not want not.
Guessing that was Al's phone that interupted the vid!!! Anyone else wanna hear the rest of that ringtone??!! pmsl
😂😂😂😂
People who make stuff custom like that really do need to get their names out more often, otherwise they may just give up and leave the industry altogether and we'll never be able to get custom stuff made again...
very informative video, loads of good tips, how many people get carried away with the dugga dugga gun, seen loads, the bearing in the flywheel, not sure if its a bush or a bearing, but, on some you could fill the hole with grease, find a tight fitting rod (cut down broom handle for example) and hammer it in the hole so the pressure pushes bush out, i recently did a 2.5 di, (needle bearing) and used a slide hammer with the pulling jaws reversed, easier with 3 hands 😅 but came out lovely, thanks 6d, keep it up
Great video Al . This old dog has learned a few new tricks 👍🏼
More cracking content, always enjoyable. Keep it up lads!
Great, really loved that, lookin forward to the next one
Wondered if PCS relined brake shoes - yes they do and also remachine brake discs. Look forward to seeing the video on them - sounds like the sort of company to feature on Car SOS and Wheeler Dealers, etc.
Great skills and knowledge
Super educational video Al. You know your stuff. I have a cunning plan to put in a Monkeez Ink order for a 6ddiesels tee shirt and hoodie. Hazah!
Good video and cant wait for video at simons place. What was that ringtone lol. Cheers al fudgy
Love the channel bud 🇬🇧👍🏻
We have one down here South west clutches at Lifton very clever chap dose the exact thing as you decried dying breeds unfortunately! Got to keep them going!
A great video Al keeps it up guys
Another great video has always al and fudgy and family 👍
good vid best entertiment on wed and sunday
Love the how, to video's there brilliant 👏 😀 👌
Just what I was lookimg for 👍
Superbulous programme 👌
Another ace video 👍
Heavy old work that, easy to see it's not your first one
Imagine there's lads who would have put that old gearbox back in and took the money 😮
A good man would never do that - look after regular customers . That goes in any business, Good man Al !😊
great loved it
Go the clutch guy!
Great video Al I got my spigot bearing out my 412d compacting bread mixed with grease into the spigot hole and tapped it out I do have a spare 2.9 412d gearbox that works if you know anyone that needs one
Sadly that doesn’t work on these the bearing is in its own backed casing 👍
You made that look easy
Lovely instructional video, Al.
Do you think you'd like doing a video about tools you really rate? Whilst I suspect you could change an engine with an adjustable and a handful of sticks, it would be interesting to hear your opinion on tools.
Not a bad idea at all fella 👍
Good video 🇮🇪☘️🍀🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Is that a ZF gearbox used on the LT?
Back in the day i changed a lot af clutches on the first series LT (Engine under the seats)
In my aprentice time i also worked on the Perkins diesel versions, hated pulling the engine out the door.
I hope you don;t "whip it out" This is UA-camr not onlyfans lol
Have the same issue with my d40 Navara. Eats clutches for breakfast. Interesting solution, does that modification make it single mass??
There was a recall that sorted it , new pedal box with free play. We kept the dual mass to give it a bit less drive line slap. 👍
Would love to see the clutch place, these companies must be used or they're lost ... should defo invest in Internet presence
I cringe when I see people start dogging bolts up with a big Duga Duga, most times you get away with it but it can lead to a easy job turning into a nightmare.
