- This Video will teach ANY LEARNER how to Add and Subtract WITHOUT using their fingers in about 15 minutes. This Video is for children that struggle with processing disorders, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and other Learning Disabilities
There are real Angels living here, in those are taking time to teach a child that it will make it, just using another way to learn and practice, till the mind says, "i got this" for life. this video will help many children
Thank you so much for posting this. I have used it to teach my daughter who is 5 and now she can add and minus like a pro. I'm always looking for ways to make her learning fun and she loves this technique. She stopped using the playdough quickly after learning the method though and now is using her memory to recall. While she doesn't appear to have any learning challenges. This method was by far the most fun for us. She'll be six shortly and is less anxious in her lessons at school. Her teachers say she is quietly confident. Thank you all the way from Aotearoa/New Zealand
Thank you for teaching this mother to help her child! Thank you for taking the time to create and post this video for us to see, understand and empower my children! Blessings always!
Thank you very much for sharing this method. I was searching for addition & subtraction method without using fingers to teach my 5 year old son , as he was messing up with fingers . I taught my son this dot method and to my surprise he picked it up well. Now he is solving problems quickly and correctly.
Thank you so much! 👍🏻
I'm so excited to try this with my daughter! I cried this morning when her teacher called and said shes struggling. Now I feel better I can hopefully teach her! This looks like fun and i pray it works! Thank you so much!
Awe, I have a 3 year old and I’m pretty new to parenting but I can’t imagine crying, hearing your child is struggling in something hurts so I know the pain, my child struggles in speech and he’s 3 most three year old would say full sentences.
Oh my gash we got it we finally got it after one loooong hour my 7 year old has it down. There’s hope there’s so much hope 😂
I did this with my 7 year old who got a zero on her math today. She got them all right in 15 minutes after this!😙
This seems very helpful I'll try it with my younger sister thank you, she just started online first grade because of quarantine and my mom's losing her mind a bit so I decided to try teaching her a bit as well
So thankful for this my 7 year old niece was not getting math and this has helped her immensely! She got it so quick and is no longer struggling 🙏🏼
I just loved it, thank you for sharing this with us, it has solved my 6 yrs old maths problem
I’m dyslexic and 40 now but this is how I taught myself to do math! Kind of cool 😎 to see other people use it
Great video, thanks for sharing this knowledge. I pray it helps my second grade child who is having difficulty with adding and subtracting.
This is good - it's a strategy I developed for myself. My son is now 5 and starting to 'pencil' tap these spots to avoid putting his pencil down and using fingers.
Fingers are like training wheels on bikes, it's best to learn to ride on a walking bike and skip those training wheels altogether.
This is a really amazing system. Thanks so much for sharing this. My child was struggling with basic math and using her fingers, it was a slow and cumbersome approach. I wanted her to learn some long addition and subtraction this summer and be more confident with her more basic skills too. I think that this is a great solution. She got it right away. With a little practice she can use this approach to master her math basics. I can't wait to view the other content that you published. Thanks to all who participated in creating and publishing this video. It's a gift!
I'm wondering what you would do if you have to add 9+9? I noticed you answered that below..."do three dots on the nine and circle them each twice instead of the usual one time".
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I had my six year old watch today. We did a fever together. He already feels more comfortable doing his math. This was a blessing. Thank you
7 you used as an elevator. 9 u can use as a round bout. 4 dots around the circle and 1 dot at the bottom. Then double up on the 4 dots. Round bout. Hope you understood me.😊 my baby girl has a lot of trouble with math. Imma try this tips. Thank you!
Very creative and very much helpful. Thanks a lot for it!
Nice job Mom and girl? Keep in touch for next video my friend
This has been an answer to prayer. Thank you!!!
This is awesome to see. I taught myself this trick as a child (At least with #1-5). I didn't know it was a real thing.

So amazing. I will try with my 5 year old boy🥰 thanks so muchhhh
This is a system similar to one I discovered years as a child when I imagined a playing card pattern 1 through 9.
Awesome! Thank you 😘
Thank you for sharing such a useful method, and one that cab actually bee seen and felt.
I have a question. Do you have a simple method like this when regrouping is involved? You do mention why you do not do 9, but then I was wondering how do you solve a problem like 27-19.
This is so amazing! "My son was like I can do that!" (he's 7)
it is very help to teach my child. thank u
Going to give this a try, my daughter has trouble with math.

I am 53 years old and finished High School I guess back in the day no one really paid attention that I was not learning and just kept passing me so I know no math at all. I am studing to get my GED. Thank you this was very helpful
Frances Ruiz is the first of all to say that he is not going to be able to do it because he is not going to be able to do it he said he was going to be able to do it he said he was going to be able to do it he said he was going to be able to do it he really was going to be able to do that he was going to be able to do it and then I was gonna he is not going to be able to do that and then he was going to be able to do it so that’s fine I’ll just let her do something to me lol 😂😆 then zzz 😴 I like the most of them all zin Zay has always got a better chance for them and how much
Congratulations on going back to school. It's never to late to learn things. Wishing you the best, never give up
Touch Math. This was all the rage several years back. I went to the workshops and made all of the "props" for Touch Math. I think it is good in that pretty soon the kids don't need the dots, they just know that they are there. However, I still don't have a problem with kids using fingers. Teach them to use them the correct way. The ladies who started Touch Math also had a phonics program called "Little Mr. Big Ears". The two workshops were usually together. Also, "Souper Sounder" was part of their programs. I used parts of those programs and still do.
I'm here looking for the disadvantages of using touch maths as kids move to higher grades
Hi Patt howard, where can I find little Mr.BIG Ears and super sounder videos
verryu helpful. ganna teach this tomy girls.they will love cuz they will also be playing playdough at the same time. thanks so much...
Tried it and my daughter got it instantly. Thanks very helpful.
Many thank you!
I am going to try this with my son who is 10 and is having a hard time with math. Thank you.
I use this method since my childhood by using pencil dots...
Omgggggg ! This is amazing !

Wow! Does this work with regrouping addition and subtraction?
Ur amazing please do more videos
How do you teach regrouping?
Ok so this is my story of y am watching this....i am 12 years old I know how to add, subtract, divided, multiply and more my parents got divorced and so my mom found a man that didn't have a kid at all but my dad is looking for a gf and he found one that had a 2 year old daughter......I haven't seen her physically the lil girl but I totally fell in love with her....tbh she doesn't even know I am alive but I have big hopes that one day am gonna meet her and teach her all I know to her because she got all my heart I honestly hate kids but this lil girl just ughhh so pretty and I love her so back to the point of this comment I want to teach her how to add at 3 or 4 or whenever I meet her because I want her to be smart that's the reason y I am watching the video....btw am SUPER excited to know that there is a possibility for me to have a little sister and to be a big sister❤❤
I’m definitely trying this with my 8 year old daughter. She has problems with subtracting.
Hi. I used this today on my 8 yr old son who is ADHD and ASD. He got it in minutes. Very impressive!. I may have missed it, but what about 9 plus 9 ?
Had same question.. about 9.. and also how do we teach e.g 36-18 using this method
How about 9 and 10? Is it not necessary to do dots on those numbers?
This was a great video, looking super forward to trying it out with some students
What's wrong with using fingers? I can touch, feel and see my fingers - they are also multi-sensory. This might be harder to use for problems presented orally. Good use of fingers is also more logical - I can understand why five fingers and two fingers is seven, but I cannot understand why you don't go back over all the dots in seven, and why there are four dots in total. The elevator story might be nice but it is not mathematical. I think good teaching of fingers and dice/domino patterns could achieve the same thing, or better. The reliance on this numeral form could lead to mistakes - e.g. if I tried to add 14 (horizontally) I might try counting on 1 and 4 (5 dots) in total, whereas if I do it on my fingers, I can see clearly that I need a different strategy as I don't have 14 fingers. Might have good results in this video with a very compliant child after 15 minutes, but same with many strategies after 15 minutes.
Hi nettsobeth, I know you made this comment like a year ago but I felt the need to comment so other people feeling the same way could see my comment.
This form of math is meant to be taught to children who have a difficult time with regular math systems. Whether that be people who struggle with the a mental illness or simply children who have fallen behind. It can be hard to see why a new system is needed when you fully understand the one already in place.
I teach several students with math issues who can't use traditional finger math because they make mistakes with it. (for example adding 7 and 6 with only 10 fingers avaliable to them often leads to them putting only the 1 and 2 fingers into use therefore adding up to only 3 instead of 13). This form of counting makes it easier for them to still be able to see the numbers, and count up with them, without having to worry about the possibility of making the same type of error.
For some children, specifically children who struggle with dyslexia and dyscalculia, numbers can often get turned around or read in places they are not. This type of breakdown helps to stop that confusion by getting the child to look at each number and interact with it one at a time.
Rebecca Warren I love this video
wow that helped my five year old sister
I am going to try this with my nephew. He is 7 and having a hard time comprehending the math.
Same here with my nephew. How did you go with yours?

I may have missed it but what concept do you use with the number 9?
CSA BASKETBALL ACADEMY no you have to count from the highest number
But how about 987+190?

I love this I will now introduce addition to my kindergartner. I think he will get it... Better than memorization
Hey it's is really good Trick I m thinking to use for my son he is 7year old and he so confused with this number always.
thx for macing my chiold liern
I think this method will help him
what about number 9
I think this method will be more complicated to kids remember than just using their fingers or color sticks
what about number 9 and 10
For 9 have 4 dots and 4 circles around the circle part of the 9, put another dot on the end. For 10 have 2 dots on the 1 and 4 dots and 4 circles on the 0.
