Brandon Sanderson posted the first few chapters of Rhythm of War on the Tor Website. One year has gone by after the events of Oathbringer, and now almost every Bridgman has sworn the 3rd ideal.
After reading Oathbringer we know exactly why Sadeas was so terrified when Dalinar summoned his blade. You really don't wanna be the one to awaken the Blackthorn from his slumber. Young Dalinar would have killed Sadeas on the spot.
That night when he returned to Rathalas was absolutely amazing. And his "You cannot have my pain." speech? Shiwers. Probably best character development I've read so far. I expect great things from Teft.
Bro Young Dalinar would have given him the blade only to beat Sadeas with his bare hands then use sadeas dead body in shardplate as a bludgeon against his army.
He was betrayed and enslaved by a lighteyes looking to get a Shardblade. Then a lighteyes gave up his Shardblade to honor a promise and free him. It's like a ketek
"This will be remembered as the most ridiculous decision ever made" yea you are right sadeas you are right! you are let them go for just one shardblade :D
This is one of the most impactful scene, Kaladin has been disappointed with many light eyes, but he still want to try just once he wants to see whether Dalinar will keep his promise. When Dalinar said something about the value of a shardblade and people's life, It brought tears to me
That's wrong, great but wrong, his and syl's ideals compelled him to come back for him, his bro died following the ideal, it's not the journey, it's the destination
With one move Dalinar proved that even with Honor dead for a millennia that humanity alone can stand in the face of the stormlight and survive. I also consider this the moment Dalinar proved he wasn't the champion of Odium
Sanderson refined his art to the max for this series. He has improved much over the years, not to say that his earlier works were bad. But this is THE BEST.
@@iIAbu3abdIiGames Pretty crazy when you think about it. The cosmere as a whole is amazing with how it's all connected, but Stormlight is definitely his magnum opus.
Just gonna point out that Dallinar thrust his shardblade in the middle of the Justice glyph Navani made as he made the bargain. Kalladin didn't belive his men would get justice How epically thematic is that. .
@@wooshbait36 lol you don't think he intentionally wrote Dalinar leaving his sword in the middle of a Justice glyph, offering it up for the entirety of Bridge 4?
This part brings tears to my eyes every single time. Dalinar gave up the greatest treasure in the world for a couple of lowly sickly men. Hoid was right in Words of Radiance when he said you would find God in the same place as salvation from this mess. Inside the hearts of men.
Oh my god, that was incredible. This is one of my favourite moments from The Way of Kings, and the music made it even better. I can actually imagine Sadeas's terror face when Dalinar summons his blade and it makes me happy.
@@Darkpara1 Oh, I don't know how far have you read so **Oathbringer spoilers ** To me, this is where he really changes from Dalinar The Blackthorn into Dalinar the Bondsmith. This scene is clearly driven by Honor, instead of passion. And I love that.
I liked Dalinar for most of Way of Kings, but this moment made him my favorite character in the series. After Oathbringer he became my favorite character of all time. Kaladin is right there with him
I agree, I love kaladin. But there is something about Dalinar the way he carries himself and the way he commands yet respects people. a fictional character yet he makes you want to be better IRL.
I mean, Kal still had a whole journey ahead of him. He strayed pretty hard before the Third Oath. All I'm saying is it was never guaranteed that Bridge Four was worth all that much
True but even with the second Oath Kaladin on stromlight is worth more than a shard blade imo. Dalinar probably guessed something was especial about Kaladin considering he how he saved him.
@@iriya3227 yeah, he was captivated by his lack of meek obedience, ability to make executive decisions like directing Adolin away from Dalinar that added up to saving Kholin's army on the Tower. He was by all means a valuable acquisition, whether Radiant or not
@@Nick.Georgiev Yup. Brandon has even said Dalinar made this decision in part as a statement to the other High Princes. "We've been doing this wrong. We've been valuing the wrong things here. Riches and wealth instead of human life."
I would say that Kaladin didn't see it as important. To him, it was just some weird light-eyes gave him on a whim. To him, he had more important things to worry about. Like the wounded left behind, confused to be rescued by someone who he had given up as another light-eyes that would just use them to look noble. He was confused, exhausted, relieved, and uncertain of the future. What is a simple flute to him?
I more feel like since the shard of Honor is splintered Odium will eventually shatter Preservation and Dalinar might unite the pieces into a new shard: Unity
Adolin did do wrong, but did it under circumstances that mitigate his crime. I do think Adolin has a LOT of growing to do, and will become a lot more than he already is.
Dude, I’m not just surprised but I stopped listening to the book after hearing this section not believing what I just heard, this was an amazingly beautiful moment, easily the best book I have ever read
On my first read thru I was like shit what is he gonna do? He better not let my man Kaladin down. Then he takes out his shardblade and I was like o he's just gonna kill everybody Dhalinar Kholin style. That'd be quite on brand, but no he gives away his fing shard blade. I didn't even think of that, it's so obvious in a way but I'm just dumb or was too caught up in the story to put it together. But it goes to show how class Sanderson is. His storytelling leads you thru such a complex character development that make these moments just so deep and triumphant. Navanis sadness at loosing another partner, Kaladins struggle to believe in honor again, Dhallinar and Adolins struggle to do what's right against the grain, and the need for Sadeas to be the real 10 fools. There stories all collide right here in this moment and I'll never forget how it made me feel.
Even after reading words of radiance and reading the majority of people think that 'honor is dead' scene is the best ever, i still find this scene my favourite of the two books
Mine is kinda FULLY incapable of imagining descriptions as pictures, cant even imagine a color. But certain things written so well feel like images even with my inability to imagine images.
That music when sadeas accepted was triumph music for Dalinar, he just made one of the greatest trades in history, a shard blade for some bridges. Did I forget they are future windrunners
Everything before this scene told me this book was one of my favrouites, the final battle pumped it up to top five, midway through this confrontation it was top three WHEN HE SLAMMED THE FUCKING SHARDBLADE IN THE STONE, it became my No.1. Its the most badass scene after Navani saying in rhythm of war, "life before death you bastard." Both scenes r just indescribable, but this graphic audio just makes it otherworldly.
@@COSMEREAUDIO Some of them are custom made by Graphic Audio and unreleased but a good bunch are taken from already made music, you can find them here open.spotify.com/playlist/4ToRgt8roYACWzi7IUrWlR

@S'arah Triel WOW great job! By any chance did you ever also found the music where Adolin was using Iron stance in his first duel, I believe the same music played when Shallan was fighting Tyn.
You know every one of Sadeas' soldiers knew for sure they were dead men if they had to fight Dalinar. Sadeas would have thrown them into him if it saved his own skin. Props to them for not bailing immediately.
The most ridiculous decision ever made indeed, a knight radiant and dozens of squires in exchange for one measly deadeyed shard? What a terrible deal for Sadeas!
Sadeas' "take the storming creatures!" line sounds far too angry imo. He's just been handed the deal of a lifetime, and thinks Dalinar is one of the ten fools. He's being dismissive, mocking Dalinar for what he asked in return.
How abridged are the graphic audios exactly? Because I've been toying for ages on whether to get them or not, but from the snippets I've listened to they seem to cut quite a bit out.
It's extremely high quality production. I can recommend them fully. Ive heard to all 3 books twice with graphic audio and once with Michael Kramer and Kate Reading. Graphic audio doesnt miss much, it just skips things that they replace with sounds like doors opening, clicks, sometimes voice tones that the voice actors compensate with. in general it's a very high quality production for graphic audio and i reccomend it
Ok where the hell can I get this version of the audiobook? Clearly not on amazon, I mean the two doing the reading are not bad but holy crap the ones in this are fantastic and not to mention the music is a nice touch.

my favourite fucking scene in the entire cosmere after reading all mistborn too
The 3 dislikes are Moash, Odium, and Sadeas
when sadeas died i was happy but now im just disappointed we dont get to see his reaction to all that dalinar has accomplished.
Do you think you could do Dalinar's Wedding, and also Jasnah+Shallan's philosophy in action lesson?
Thinking about it
You know every one of Sadeas' soldiers knew for sure they were dead men if they had to fight Dalinar. Sadeas would have thrown them into him if it saved his own skin.
Props to them for not bailing immediately.
It took me a couple months to read way of kings after this scene it took me a several weeks per book to read the rest.
And then storm bones said "thats was pretty honorable Dalinar, i can finished this for you" then he cut sadias in half with a shardbald
I love Dalinar but not as much as Kaladin as im going through depression for years myself ❤
The most ridiculous decision ever made indeed, a knight radiant and dozens of squires in exchange for one measly deadeyed shard? What a terrible deal for Sadeas!
Where can I get the full audio books in this style? I have the read by Micheal Kramer and Kate Reading on audible, but these are intense
It's really an experience. Search for GraphicAudio! They have almost all books from Sanderson in this format.
Thanks! I'll check them out. I love his books and really like the format from the video
michael kramer's voice is way better
Graphic audio doesnt miss much, it just skips things that they replace with sounds like doors opening, clicks, sometimes voice tones that the voice actors compensate with. in general it's a very high quality production for graphic audio and i reccomend it
They remove the "he/she said", the "he murmured" and act it out in voice instead. Other than those things, it's very close to the book.
other then the disgusting kissing sounds of Challan and Adolin, its great!
King Hassy It could be worse. The Deathlands series has sex scenes... in Graphic Audio! God help me I’m scarred...
@@13eetle13omber lmaoo I could imagine
Cool
Ok where the hell can I get this version of the audiobook? Clearly not on amazon, I mean the two doing the reading are not bad but holy crap the ones in this are fantastic and not to mention the music is a nice touch.
I think this is the "Graphic Audio" version
Ben bu sahneyi tv ya da sinemada izlersem vefat ederim. Uyarlaması yapılmamalı
Why does Sadeas sound like Alan Tudyk
This isn't Micheal Kramer?
Is this from graphic audio?
And so, indeed, it was remembered as the most ridiculous decision made by an Alethi High Prince...but which prince was the fool in the end?
