- Toyota City, Japan, February 26, 2018―Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) announces that it has developed a new continuously variable transmission (CVT), 6-speed manual transmission, 2.0-liter engine, 2.0-liter hybrid system, and 4WD systems based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), a development framework aimed at making ever-better cars. The new technologies offer both superb driving performance and high environmental performance.

I got this same engine in my 2020 corolla
This engine has both port and direct fuel injection. You can actually see it in the video
Excellent video! This really shows how the ongoing evolution in IC engine design is squezing more and more efficiency out of every drop of fuel.
Toyota ha desarrollado en los últimos años el motor 2.0 más eficiente del mundo ¡¡¡
Does this video have any audio to it?
It's the new 2 liter for the 2019 Auris
I use long strokes as well to my gf... basically I'm an engine
Please put an N/A or turbo version in the refreshed Corolla iM aka Auris.
The 2019 Corolla Hatch in Japan is the only one with a turbo so far. Sadly they decided to make it a 1.2L Turbo which has 30-40 ponies less. Curious to know how well this engine is with lower comp pistons and boost. Not much info on quality of con rods, bearings and what not yet.
Has a resin head????? How long will that last?
How much horse power does it make?
Direct injection + higher compression ratios = more particullate matter + NOx pollution.
Thanks to Euro 6c they'll be sold with a particulate filter, but what about NOx emissions? Hope they don't get too high.
How do you know if it's going to have GPF? Can you please share the source of information?
+LogicalVolume | The limit in Euro 6c for particulate matter emission is 6×10^11. Most GDI (gasoline direct injection) engines exceed this limit nowadays. With the introduction of Real Driving Emissions (RDE) test procedure in Euro 6c, compliance in PM emission is even harder. So I have no doubt every GDI will have its GPF.
Regarding the source of information, you can check ADAC eco tests regarding the Benzin-Direkteinspritzer engines. Also try searching Direkteinspritzer und der Feinstaub. Besides, GPF is cheap and simpler than the diesel counterpart. All the best!

Thanks for all the information. So, it looks like new hybrid engine (2.0) will get the GPF as well.
How does this engine compared with the ZR? Has the ZR any advantage over these one?
I have a bone stock CVT 2019 CHB and beat a FRS with slight mods.
What mods did you get or recommend
@@brandonhumble3595 my CVT was bone stock. I’d recommend nothing for these cars. I’m getting a new car that’s actually a tuner car.
It can work on -40 degrees? Our country on winter -40 degree.

Novedades Toyota en Ginebra, un nuevo motor de gasolina Direct-Injection que es más eficiente que un hibrido...casi naaaa ***
двигатель m20a-fks
Efficient, so it looks. But - with a direct injection there is a price to be paid for that by constant carbonization of the valves. Without additional measures it seems to be questionable if the engine could achieve a longer lifespan without expansive repairs/ maintenance.
It has port injection as well. It will help mitigate carbon built up.
If u look u can see the injector is spraying the back of the valve due to the increased valve angle
Since Toyota discontinued, the 1.8 and the 5.7 , it looks like I won’t be buying any more Toyotas. it should be noted, that the cylinder block design, and even cylinder head with laser-clad valve seats, make it impossible to rebuild or repair this engine with a reasonable budget - (this engine is kinda a one-off).
Given the EV revolution that has been ongoing since 2010 this motor seems to be obsolete, no?
direct injection - might not be a good idea. there's a reason why they are still selling the 2020 corollas with the 1.8L engines, in case these engines tank, they can always fall back to the 1.8s.
Direct injection is fine. Just do the old Italian tuneup from time to time to burn the carbon deposits.
This new engine has both port and direct injection.Port injection is used along with direct injection during light or medium engine loads. That should eliminate carbon build-up.
@@Armadurapersonal italian tuneup 💀💀
