I love how Ryu's descripton of the Ironmon challenge also perfectly describes the challenge he's doing in these streams. Okay, maybe there's more variety in the random hot garbage that ends most of these runs, but the RNG of the level selection is still the major factor here rather than Ryu's skill.
I think the weight of his skill matters more here, mayb not a lot more 🤷♂️

So this got me to look up the Ironmon challenge, and according to the thing I found, you do get more than one pokemon. You're allowed to capture the first pokemon you encounter in any given area. BUT. All pokemon are randomized, all pokemon types and movesets are randomized, and thus all point of it being Pokemon and thus a strategy game is completely removed and it's just one hundred percent luck, since there's no way to even know what your opponent actually is or can do. Kinda gross, not gonna lie.

My vote would be for a "Super Switch" however I think it's worth pointing out that making a better version of an existing console has only translated to increased sales exactly once in Nintendo's history with the Super NES. N64 sold less than the SNES, GC sold less than the N64, GBA sold less than the GB, 3DS sold less than the DS. That said, major reinventions like the Wii and Switch aren't guaranteed either. They have debacles like the Virtual Boy and Wii U. Still i can see why Nintendo may want to do something completely different, it's in the company's DNA to do so.

Totally agree about the switch. Just keep upgrading it like an iphone. You can always play any game on the switch even as it advances.

Ryu is so pathetic. I REALLY hate the trend that is going on lately, with UA-camrs and others saying 'that game looks fun to speed-run'. That's NOT why you play a damn game; doing stupid speed-runs ruins all the fun of playing a game in the first place, and nobody likes them. And it isn't impressive at all, either.
