He has that very typical French attitude.... he wants to be successful but just up to a point where he can be content and where his life can still be simple and balanced.

True success and happiness is a balance that few achieve, being content and knowing how much is enough is a gift few ever realize. Eric epitomizes such success with grace. Sadly we all lose those we love and it changes our lives greatly, hopefully Eric can recall the great times and adventure he and Tony shared rather than the sadness his untimely death brought to so many.

His crazy, narcissitic sociopathic so called girlfriend who he was madly in love with was cheating on him and the photos of her and her lover were printed on several sites the week he killed himself. That made him miserable. He really loved her and didn't see her real character. She used him, his fame and his support and is the reason he did this. Look it up Her name is Asia Argento and her lover wrote her speech for the Canne film festival (Hugo Clement...a 28 year old French journalist). She has serious mental health issues and knew he was fragile but did not care...a very self absorbed, immature 42 year. old

I feel so sad and I'm sorry for his daughter and true friend's and best friend Eric and Masa. Asia Argento broke him. Simple, he saw the pictures of her with another man and was broken hearted again. Sad when you feel you will never truly find love at 61. She put out a very dark post obviously directed at Anthony (Sid Vicious) then quickly removed it after his death was announced. McGowan the mouthpiece is speaking for her saying one thing then another, that they had an open relationship. Bullshit, don't believe that at all. His best friend's said how in love he was and how happy. He would not degrade himself with a woman who was not committed to him because of all the hurt he had been through. Why hurt all over again. Horse shit Asia and Rose...I call BULLSHIT on you both! Rose McGowan is a liar and his so called girlfriend was a cheating so and so...Tony was fragile and she took, took, took, from him then moved on without telling him. It was by complete accident pictures of her and the younger guy Clément where even taken holding hands, hugging and being very affectionate. The poor photog who took those pics is so distraught, wished he never did because he feels his pictures caused Tony's death.
So many loved Tony's whether they knew him or not. It's odd how McGowan says not to take things out on Agrento...seriously. Now it's become about Asia...how is she feeling in all this?? Bullshit, she has her side. According to media report's and her words, she's fine. She's praying..I find that really odd as well. Who exactly is she praying too considering many very dark photo's and lifestyle, and comments. I think big pieces of the puzzle will remain and only she has the key piece and she will never say because it would cast her in a horrific light. ( MY OPINION). He loved his daughter and would never leave her therefore, something so massive got him out of his head in the moment and into his dark spot that he has lived with in the past. This time, the dark and hurt was to great to overcome and won over in those brief seconds. RIP Tony you wonderful soul. I hope you found your final destination. 🙏💖😢

So sad. I've lost a good friend to suicide, and to learn that Chef Ripert had waited for him and dinner, and then again at breakfast, only to find he'd ended his life in a short momentary lapse of reason, is just tragic. I hope Chef Ripert can forgive his friend for it, and feel peace for him.
Anthony Bourdain has so many fans because his personality was completely down-to-earth and relatable. He was just a regular guy. He seemed to sometimes think that fans forgot this or didn't realize this about him, but we didn't. He was just a guy; a regular guy, who was happy, and sad, who loved good food, family, and friends, and found excitement in travelling to new places and experiencing foreign cultures, as so many humans love to do, dream of doing, or at least want to peek at and observe from afar. An interest in the new, the different, the foreign, and in food, is all human nature. He had an understanding of and respect for people, that all people should have, and he was a brilliant poet who could weave a narrative, both verbally and in print, that could make you laugh, relate, and want to jet off on your own adventure. He truly deserved all of the fame he came into with his brilliantly funny and poetic, and honest 1999 article in the New Yorker. He was up for the adventure it opened to him, and so were we. He was just a guy, who liked things that we liked, hated things we hated, and let us tag along on his exciting adventures. He will be missed here on Earth.

I really enjoyed watching Anthony Bourdainss, Parts Unknown series. I have read so many contraversial posts from Utube ECT. I hope there's no truth in the posts and tweets that his girlfriend at the time, Asia Argento was a red witch. Its sounds over the top, but regardless if its true or not? He was a great storyteller, Chef, father, friend and husband. May he find peace and happiness on his journey. He will be missed! He is gone, but not forgotten! I will continue to watch reruns of my favorite episodes that Anthony made. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Thank you Anthony, for bringing me to the beautiful and exotic places in the world! And for giving me a very realistic look into how unique and interesting it is to see how other cultures eat and live. I have a deep respect for these other cultures and for the truly amazing and generous people that you have shown to all of us on your journeys thru Parts Unknown. May your journey be an awesome one!

Renee Peterson Luciferian could be another term for his girlfriend. Anthony, I believe, fell into some dark stuff. You would be surprised at how many among the rich and famous are. Some get lack ailed into it. Some are born into it.
I think that Eric had the greatest of loyalty, being the great friend that he was, and he helped to sort Anthony's head out. I am sure that it was a tough job to take on.

I was heartbroken to the Core to hear of Anthony suicide. It always puzzles me what makes a intelligent, kind, successful, loving father and husband commit the ultimate Act. I met him at one time where he lived and so do I. We were at a gathering and I wanted to say hello and he was the most kind person. I still can't believe he's gone. I only wish he could have conquered his demons before he could get help. May you rest in peace dear one.... Jay

" Anthony Bourdain " - Speaking Out on matters such as Palestine, Israel, Vietnam, Cambodia, Immigrants, the Military Industrial Complex's atrocities against 3rd world countries, cultures, and peoples he loved visiting,.. I feel is why the establishment murdered him.
Above all, Anthony was GRATEFUL, not for fame or money, but because he loved what he was doing. He did not commit suicide as Joe and CNN says.. You can't make TV as he did, that good, and not love every second of it.
I imagine a different scenario being played out in that hotel room, and it had more to do with his political views, and his reach to a younger audience, and even more so, an international audience, than anything else..

I bet the Talented Mr Ripley and The Wife had this planned from the beginning, because all of Bourdain's money dissappeared and the daughter was awarded peanuts. Someone ran away with his fortune. They say he had only about $500,000 in actual money, plus some Royalties assets. I'm not buying he through away $16 million. On what?

If he was such a great friend, why didn't he check in on Bourdain when he did not show up for breakfast and then dinner the day before Bourdain killed himself....when he knew that Bourdain was exhausted, in a dark place and at risk for something tragic....I mean, if it were my friend who did not show up for two meals in a row with a cloud of darkness over them, I would have checked in and that could have made the difference.

Joe Smith I cry bullshit! It was easy enough to follow her social media platforms and know what she was all about. He chose relationships with women 20 or so years his junior then was gone in a demanding career 265 days a year. You get what you get when you set yourself up to fail. Can't blame it on the women. He was a depressive alcoholic as well. That's a recipe for disaster too. He knew he suffered depression yet continued to swallow bottles of stuff that is a known depressive. It's self destructive behavior he just took that destruction to the next level and decided to check out. Very sad.

I wish the chef I studied under was like Eric. I prayed daily for the bastard to accidently fall into the kettles. Don't know how the clueless fuk was given a kitchen to run, couldn't learn a Damn thing from him and was so dangerous to work around. Never cared about how he was with his knife or anything hot, you had to look out for yourself and help be the eyes for your coworkers so they didn't get hurt either, we all kept track of where the bastard was at any given time for safety reasons. We also, being Sous Chefs, were the line of defense as far as what food we let go out of there. (Duh, that was our job anyway but with him, we had to double down on it). Anyway, I don't know why I'm rambling, really.
I'm so sad and angrily stunned that Tony is gone and I pray for Eric because he now has to live the rest of his life with that vision in his head. He does not deserve it.
