I miss 2000s platformers, not afraid to not be kid friendly to an exhausting degree. Ratchet in R&C making fun of Courtney Gears for being a thot and having soundtracks called "Kick Dr Nefarious' Ass" etc, Shadow using guns, 06 touching mature themes, Sonic saying "shit" in Sonic X etc, Gex the Gecko with his inappropriate jokes and references. Platformers became waaaaay too much for babies after 2008 or somewhere close to that.
