I love the sound of the song, it really flows so well. If this is what we will get from the whole album, I think it'll rival some of their older stuff - I know that's a bold statement, but this song just sounds so damn confident.

Suena arriesgado, no es lo que normalmente The Gathering suele hacer, pero suena genial, sus cambios, instrumentales/experimentales, tal vez algunos salmplers y sin dejar la caracteristica guitarra de Renne Rutten. Ahora si que me han sorprendido y en efecto, estaré muy interesada en el resto del album.

This is one of the most interesting songs I have listened to in a long time. Very well done!! Very progressive, very experimental, very brave. Many will not like, the rest of us will just adore just like everything else this band as done. Keep it up TG, bands like yours keeps our faith in music alive.

This is one of the best songs I've heard from The Gathering in recent years, The band sounds entirely fresh, sort of 90's Alt rock, but without sacrificing the heaviness and progressive experimentation...Was this recorded in Analog? The stripped down production gives it that warm fuzzy feel that has become a lost art. Very well done, I cannot wait for the album.

esto va a ser un discazo y el que es un retrogrado que se queda en el tiempo llorando a anneke bue que se curta y se quede escuchando los discos viejos. o sea, estos dos temas son gloriosos, muestra que los tipos siguen evolucionando como siempre, al disco anterior le falto que silje encajara bien, en este ya se nota la maquina afilada.

I agree, it sounds like Linkin Park or stuff like that, the blend of male and female vocals in this song reminds of last Lacuna Coil albums that I hate indeed.

I don't think there's any misandry at all; if how you choose to see the song as about a break up between two lovers (Which was what Heroes for Ghosts was about), then that's one way of looking at it, but not the only way. You could also view this song as being about parental abandonment - the lyrics are not particularly specific and you are free to create your own meaning, which is what a good song should do.
As for Anneke, Saturnine touched on similar ground.

You're right ; "Heroes for ghosts", is one of the only good songs of their new era. Because it's less overproduced, for both the vocals and the instrumentation.
I think they lack of inspiration ; and then they rape pro-tools, betting on the "this is experimentation, you can't understand" effect.
Experimentation isn't about bringing anything into your song... It's about giving life to your inspiration with the effects that fit.
The music I like, including the trumpet addiction but have a problem with the lyrics. The undertones of misandry defile the song. Who's the guy that moves mountains to "earn" love instead of waiting for a twist of fate? Will she ever be happy? Is she worth trying to please? CAN anyone? This doesn't sound like The Gathering to me - Heroes for Ghosts did. Anneke would never have made a song like this. And what is the whispering? This songs speaks why it's so hard for modern man to find love IMHO.
I'd say first 2 albums really suck and the other ones are amazing (and I like doom metal, it isn't the problem : but the doom era of TG is weak and uncreative compared to others like Paradise Lost)
