We were pretty impressed with this, far better than some of the others we've previously tested. What do you guys think? How would you improve it?
I personally would improve the motor pump annoyingly noisy.
And water output , had it 2 days and looking already to replace.

@@TechNuovo it's a very weak outpour , occasionally the outpour is fractionally better yet for the most part it's very little. It was purchased last year and not been used however upon moving to a new home it was unopened and used where my first thought was it's quite noisy and after washing the necessary items recommended in a you tube video and upon making the coffee's I have reached the summarisation that the water output is not quite right.
It's a pity there is not a company to which I am able to send the item to gain adequate water exit and either a fix to the motor or pump so it is quieter at a cost.
Do the nesspresso converters from amozon work with this model? Theyre suppoed to work with the genio 2, but doesnt say anything about the s plus? 🤔

Hot hot coffee 🎉 or cooler if palate prefers. Clean, no mess, easy to use, and adore the espresso boost 👌Had it for x2 weeks now. Sits alongside our traditional Gaggia coffee machine. Love the fact you can use your own ground coffee with reusable metal pods! Game changer. Love it.
And when you first get it, run the rinse WITHOUT the mini filter and you don’t get that plastic taste.
It’s such a versatile machine. Starbucks, Aldi coffee available in this format in addition to the dolce gusto Nescafé pods.
Or as I said grind your own and off you go! Bought on Amazon with 3 boxes of Starbucks pods thrown in - for £49.99. Amazing deal.

Any idea how to take it out of descaling mode as I’ve descaled and the light hasn’t switched off on the genio s plus
Question about the espresso boost function: Is this function only for those dulce gusto espresso pods? Ie it makes it an even more intense taste?
Or is the idea that you can use the standard flat white or cafe au lait pods and by pushing that button, it converts into into an espresso type flavour?

If you get the reusable pods you can virtually stick any coffee in it including tassimo or nespresso.

Thanks for making this video dude. I've just purchased a Genio S Plus from Argos and I went through three-ish tanks of water during the initial rinse stage. This was just to make sure I didn't get a plastic-esque tasting coffee like you mentioned. Three tanks was enough and I went for a Cafe Au Lait Intenso as my first pod - very impressed! A great coffee machine and highly recommended as a gift for someone... or yourself 🙌

@mrjonnyjones did you buy a Genio S Plus made by DeLonghi or Krups? on @TechNuovo vid I see DeLonghi and been looking for one to buy for my wife and I see that on my polish Dolce Gusto site Genio S Plus is from Krups. now I'm bit worried if it matches the DeLonghi made one :)

Thanks for this review. How do you get the right amount according to your cup? How do I make sure it stops and fills my cup properly without over flowing or filling less than needed. Thanks
The pod tells you what level / ml to set it to, to get the best coffee. You then need to work out yourself what cup you need. Ie one pod May make a 230ml coffee, so measure 230ml of water and pour it into your cups, see which one best suits.
Or use a bucket to bes sure

No, I never had, the contents inside is biodegradable, coffee or milk, so should be ok. Could be wrong though 😐
@@TechNuovo the pods likely aren't recyclable without specialized machinery, if nestle would ever invest in them. They are made of 4 materials, a plastic foil on top, a different type of soft plastic body, an aluminum seal on the bottom, and a piercing plastic plate sitting right below that (which is very hard, and very abrasive). Together with the impossibility of washing out the coffee grounds (food contamination would ruin a whole lot of recycled plastic) before processing, these things will never be recycled in the general stream. About the only thing you can do with these things, besides building a special machine just for dolce gusto pods, is to burn them all for energy.
Hi i need help. Can someone tell me how the dolce gusto coffee taste like? Im a freqent cafe coffee drinker so wondering if the dolce gusto tastes similar to that. Have seen alot of bad reviews saying it taste watery/vending machine coffee like so please someone help 😢
does that cafe au lait come sweetened? i only want one of these machines if i can make a big cup like yours using 1 pod and comes sweetened so i can keep costs down, will that one do it or do you have other ways?
To me, I think the milk is sweetened but whether it’s enough for you, who knows.
Hi, does the temperature control allow you to make hotter drinks with this machine than the Genio S machine? Or is max temp on Genio S and Genio S plus the same?
Yes, it doesn't seem to be particularly hot. The video suggests it is a little bit hotter.

Can someone please tell me if I want to use the XL option for a larger drink how am I supposed to select the bars of each capsule?:(
If you select XL thats the maximum drink size, so it overrides the bar selection; this may mean the drink tastes more diluted if the pod originally requires a low bar level
Hello..new to the coffee world. Want to ask as newbie which is better and suitable between picollo, infinissima or genio s.
Genio S offers the most flexiblity but if you just want a basic coffee, they all perform very similar.

Hi! I believe the mini me is manual operation, so straight away, the Genio is far better for control and quantity of water.
@Tech Nuovo in fact, the Mini me is an automatic coffee machine on which the amount of water can be adjusted. We made a video about him on our channel.😁

I believe the only difference is there ability to make larger drinks, larger glass cups etc.
Do you need to have a "cold brew pod" or will any starbucks still work on cold setting?.
Any standard pod will work with the cold option but it’s only as cold as the water in the tank, so add an ice cube 👍

I love my new Doche Gusto Genio S Plus but I cannot seem to be able to keep the water flowing. Please help me and tell me what I am doing wrong, or not doing right.

An issue I experienced was when placing the tank after filling it up with water. If it doesn't line up perfectly, then the water will not flow. Took some getting used to for sure. Apart from this, I'm not too sure I'm afraid.
Can i use it with any brand of capsules ?or matcked with specific kinds ?
Different brands, yes, so you can get Starbucks pods etc BUT it has to be the dolce gusto shape of pod

What if u put in cold water in the tank? Will the temp still be luke warm at around 30-35 degrees?
No, it’ll bypass the heater and be room temperature. Thinking about it, stick a few ice cubes in and that’ll bring it right down and then make the coffee.

Hi! Not currently using this machine anymore, moved away from pods altogether. Travel flask yes but the taller ones, might be easier to make the coffee in a cup and pour it in 👍

So much better! It has automatic control, rather than manual, so you can just leave the drink to make itself, rather than manually stopping when made. Get this one

Sorry 1 more question. I can buy with 3 options. With 1 starbucks travel mug / with 2 Starbucks mugs / or with a frothed. Why would I want a frother if it comes out frothy already?
You wouldn’t, the milk comes out frothy, unless it’s like a handheld whisk that you could use with milk for something else 🤷♂️

Great video. My machine is arriving later today (Saturday). I'm very interested in the metal reusable coffee pods you mentioned in your video - do you have a link of the correct ones to buy please? I had a look on Amazon but there are so many and I want to make sure I get the right ones.
Thanks! They’re Gusto shaped pods, so any metal ones on Amazon shaped like that should be fine. Having a Quick Look, there are some by Madama for £16 that should be ok.

How does the espresso boost button work? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.
Can you do a drink, such as a latte, and then add an espresso pod using the boost function to give it an extra shot?
Hi, it’s been a while since we had the machine but from memory, the boost function offers a specific temp and brewing option to get a better shot. As long as your cup or glass will accept a latte and a shot, yes you can. Just leave the drink under the outlet and pour a shot.

It does but it doesn’t produce an iced coffee as such. Instead, a luke warm coffee that you add ice too

Mini me looks manual, it has the hot/cold water lever on the top. Thats a hard no from me! Automatic is so much easier.

I bought a Dolce Gusto and a tassimo and this point applies to both. If the drink doesn't come with a separate milk pod, it's nothing but flavoured water. Pretty much all of the hot chocolate is just cheaped out water. Only Chococino worth it's price on this thing.
What's the major difference between s basic and plus?
I think the plus includes the espresso boost, otherwise fairly similar i believe. I've not actually used the basic before.
I bought it 5 days ago, and i am having trouble with the temperature. It is not boiling hot it was more of slightly hotter than room temperature. However, today it had higher temperature than usual. So, is this normal or should i return it or something?
Sounds faulty. First cup I made was too hot to drink (for me anyway). I’d expect it to be hot out the box!

No, I believe it’s the same machine just branded differently depending on country, or at least that’s what I’ve found when I’ve looked into it before

fantastic review! i almost bought this machine last night to replace my 10 year old Dolce Gusto machine. I've been trying to figure out what exactly the espresso boost button does and if its just a gimmick
thanks for watching! Potential for a gimmick, there is science behind pre brewing and the benefits, whether this does it accurately enough to benefit, maybe, maybe not.
I don't know what's your model, but I have EDG315.b and it looks like yours (I guess). At first there's no information about the machine model on the visible side - it's on the bottom. So if you want to check it, you must remove water tank and cup (and maybe pad). If you don't, it will happen what happened to me: coffee on the floor 🤣
So the issue with this machine (or with my machine) is "student engineering": when you activate it start's counting the time for "sleep mode". But now it is in "power on" mode and it heats. So go away, after some time you go back, select the water quantity and press start button. The water starts filling your cup and... time is ticking and if it's done, machine turns off in the middle of the process 😁 First time I thought the machine has faulted. But it's just "student engineering"! 😂🤣

I have not, no but you can get the reusable pods now and fill them with ground coffee 👍

We flushed twice. Thought was fine after that
I got one of these for Christmas and has the most horrible after taste in all the drinks ;(
We had that too, you’ve got to give it a full tank flush through several times to remove it.
Main problem with these machines is they are all noisy and rattle around. Someone please make one with a quiet compressor with low vibrations!

We just brought ours.. coffee is not super hot at the hottest temperature... it quickly gets cold! you need 2 capsules for an XL drink or else it's diluted.. hot chocolate is just flavored water!
Thanks for the feedback. Sure drinks aren't as hot as say a coffee made from kettle water, and yes, two capsules ideally for an XL drink. Hot chocolate still tastes good though for flavoured water 😉

We've seen this mentioned a few times to be fair. I'm personally fine with my coffee not scolding the roof of my mouth. My mother makes coffee from her machine and then sticks it in the microwave. Never understood that 🤣

i have the genio s and it dosnt dispense the right amount of water as the level says on the capsules
I did test this actually, only once, but made a cafe au lait, 180ml the capsule and the actual volume out was not far off that at all, minus some froth. How different were your outputs?
@@TechNuovo well i made a Starbucks americano and it was 30mil out and than i mad a cappuccino that was 40 mil out it varies depending on the capsule you see level one for Starbucks is accurate at 30 mil and with anything else its 10 mil out so idk
Dont buy cheap dolce gusto machines because soon or later you will have issues better go for expensive models they will be better
You keep saying flush it at least twice but didn’t show how to. Like for the first timers, it doesnt make sense how to flush without making or wasting coffee pods
Hi. It’s all detailed within the instructions as part of the unboxing/set up. No need for any pods, just press go and the water will flow through 👍

Ugh this machine is shit.. its only compatable with their own brand cups. I bought all kinds of cups and shit dont work. And nowhere do they say it clearly. Dont buy this crap really

Can you use the espresso boost to add extra intensity to a normal coffee or is it purely just for making a stronger espresso?
There’s nothing stopping you but I’m not sure if it will intensify your coffee. I think the boost button puts some water into the pod, waits for the coffee to soak it up, then uses the 15bar to push through the water. Other pods will have a different amount of coffee grounds in, may not work with the higher pressure etc.
