Brian's story in the hospital is about him almost dying from surgery from his heart murmur Kevin's story with home movies is the loss of his father Howie's story ( with the girl in red running to him) is the loss of his sister who passed from Lupus And with Nick and Aj is the loss of past relationships, the passing of their producer ( Denniz pop, name was also on the bus) and just things going on in their lives
My sister was murdered in '94 and this song always made me think of her. I took my mom to see them in concert and when they sang this she broke down for a minute. I lost my mom in '08 and now this makes me think of her as well.
In the past five years I lost my dad (from cancer), my older brother (in a plane crash) and my mom (from cancer). I know how you feel. There is this emptiness inside and all we can do (unfortunately) is move on with our lives and get used to it. I hope you're okay. God bless you.
My condolences Lacy. I didn't have the strength to do anything more than read a short poem at my mom's. No way I would've made it through a whole song. xx
It's been around 18 years since I last heard this song. I'm actually astonished that it had a deeper meaning than what I had originally thought it was about. I guess that's one reason I could never bring myself to dislike them. They were always a different cut of cloth than the usual pop groups that came around this time.
Brain: Has a heart condition and they did put that into the video Kevin: lost his dad at a young age Howie: lost his sister to cancer AJ: Lost a girlfriend Nick: This part it's about a fan died when she was going to their concert by car accident
I'm listening to this and it makes me sad. I lost 2 people in my 27 years on being on earth. My grandmother ( my mom's mother) and recently my cousin Brian I lost to a drug overdose. My cousin's death really hit me hard.
Hey Billy!! Thanks a bunch for playin this particular BSB song! It definitely tugs at the heart! This is also one of my favorite BSB songs! Thanks again!

When they perform this in concert they start it accapella. Deniz Pop was one of their original producers from Sweden. He died too soon. Each scene is about something from each of their lives. @@misterbobby8913 Since I know at some point after they shot the video, he had lost his grandmother. He was very close to her since he never had his biological father in his life and his mother never remarried until way later into his adult life.

i am sorry to hear that. My dog Riley passed away a couple years ago he was 14, my parents had to make the choiice to put him to sleep or let him suffer, his stomach was twisted and at 14 he would not survive an operation and we knew he was hanging on for us, i was only mad because they did it when i had to work and wouldn't answer my calls or texts and told me when i got home. i still miss him and cry but knowing he lived so long with no other problems and knowing we loved him and he loved us helped. i hope knowing that hepled you too with your loss.

I remember 99-00 new year's eve when the video premiered on mtv. Wasn't expecting this. Recorded it on the vcr (yep vcr) and replayed it a ton. Definitely a change from larger than life which came out before this
I love BSB because everyone sings. NSYNC is mainly Justin and JC. I love BSB because everyone has gets an opportunity to sing. They all have beautiful voices. Even though Brian and Nick were the most popular, the other 3 didn't get pushed to back up singers like NSYNC.
Nick Carter has suffered so much tragitiy these past 10 years...losing his sister & brother to addiction & I believe he lost his father as well...my heart goes out to him & the rest of these men...such a beautiful song 😢💔🙏🎶🎤
@@valentinaci7888 I was in 1st grade when I got by my first Backstreet Boys cassette tape. That was in 1998. They were a big deal in my hometown and state. Brian grew up in my hometown. And his cousin Kevin was born in hometown and he lived about 20 minutes away from my hometown. One of my friends from church had Brian's parents over at his house all the time. Brian's parents were his parents best friends.
Brian the frontman of the band had heart problems that is why in the beginning of he video hw is in thw hospital.Kevin lost his father very young and he shows him in video tape.
I'm liking the millennial hour. This song explores each band member's story that revolved around the loss of a loved one; however, in Brian's case, he had major heart surgery that I believe was a risky surgery if I read it correctly. A.J mourns the loss of a girlfriend who was killed in a car accident or something like that. Howie's story revolves around his sister dying from lupus, and the part with Kevin is him watching videos of him and his dad when he was a kid that was made years ago. Kevin's dad passed away from cancer. I'm not sure about Nick, but I think I read somewhere about him having a rough home life, and I'm not quite sure how the girl getting nearly hit by the bus fits into this video. The driver of the bus is Denniz Pop and the video is also dedicated to him because he died from an illness before the release of their millennium album. Overall this song was played out beautifully and I think it's pretty cool that they used this song and the video as a way to dedicate a personal story to each band member as well.
I was never a Backstreet Boys, boy band, pop music fan, I’m a rock girl, but from the first time I heard this song, I loved it. The only one I like by them lol.

Lost both my parents at 24, I'm 56 now and miss them everyday.
Perhaps one of the most defining songs of what being depressed is like tbh
I still get irrationally excited whenever Kevin gets to sing lol

I love “I still” at around the 3 minute mark. Kevin is great

It was never released as a single, but their song "How Did I Fall In Love You" is beautiful and really showcases Howie's voice.
This song can officially be a Covid 19 official song for 2020
