I think they are activating the mechanical locks which will close these gates faster and should discourage piggybackers

lol some systems like MARTA and even the NYC revolving gates were in service but this tech that bART is using didn’t exist 30 years ago (talking about the vision system not just the full height gate) it’s the first if it’s kind in the world.
