Light branch is a neat addition since dead branch is one of the only relics in the game that can actively hurt your run. Makes sense to have an option to swap it out.
Dead branch is only bad if you are exhausting down to an infinite, which is rare enough that I don’t remember the last time I skipped dead branch, juzu bracelet and shopkeepers mask are negatives more often than dead branch.

Replay the Spire is just a very quality mod, especially if you just want a vanilla plus experience. I'm a bit played out with it for the moment and usually spice STS up with other mods but the fact remains it is one of the OGs for sure.

These mods don’t change any major mechanics of the base game rather they add a bunch or relics, potions, cards, event, enemies, bosses, etc. The mods below are really great, and the authors would probably be delighted if were to highlight their work. I play with all of these at once (it’s stable!) and its makes slaying the spire so much more enjoyable. Have you considered checking out the Library of Ruina mods for slay the spire? One adds effectively 2 characters, the other adds a full alternate set of floors.
I would really like to see you try some of the touhou characters mods (eg: marisa , reimu , sakuya , the immortal .. ect) and the gensokyo act mod . Both the characters and the act mod have intresting mechanics.(espically the mechanics of some of the bosses in gensokyo mod they are super good)

The story teller is just a culmination of what makes slay the spire, slay the spire.
That was nuts. Interesting to note that the Counterbalance also applied to the shackled debuff, only returning half of the taken strength.
