  • Born in the summer of 67' in the San Fernando Valley, I grew up in South Central Los Angeles on Highland and Eight Avenue. I Didn't get into too much trouble until I hit the County Jail for driving on a Suspended License. Growing up in Los Angeles, I had no clue about racism. It wasn't until I hit Men's Central Jail, that life got real and turned me into the beast that I became. At the end of it I would like to say, "the world is full of good people, if you can't find one, become one." -Bruce Lee/OVG

Think about the type of person who actually WANTS to become a prison guard, someone who ENJOYS keeping other human beings locked in cages smaller than the cages we lock zoo animals in! If you consider that their sadistic and violent behavior isn’t very surprising. And to quote Wes Watson “Absolute power corrupts absolutely!”

Ernie Hill /Badger , met him a week after he came home. NA mtg. Last guy that shared talked about being attracted to young boys. I looked at Badger , he looked at me. Went out to the parking and we did what we do. Following week same mtg the secretary nominated Ernie as the treasurer for the meeting. Badger accepted the commitment. And has never gone back to the Pen. He's a Grandfather, solid as they come.

Im sure its easy to hate on badger if you are or arent white, but the man did what he had to do to survive. A lot of people dont make it out, whites in prison are extremely very extremely serious about putting on for their race. You can see the damage prison has wrecked on this guy's mind and soul. If this story isn't enough to make people think twice about commiting crime then I don't know what is. Total respect for how he's changed his life and made it out the other end to scare is story and hopefully help people going down the same path he went before it's too late. It's weird, North of SoCal people network and operate together on the Coast. I got fam and partners of all races and in between, and from gangs that don't play well. I fucked around in CA for sure and I am a lucky motherfucker, I wasn't the people I rolled with that I saw getting prepared by some new friends who were drilling them with that crash course on the ride they were about to jump on in CDC. Cali pigs are foul as shit, and everything is illegal. I got to experience those bullshit courts and corruption and shit was very clear that they want you to escalate, and they had a right to stop and search me on site for 3 years, and that sounded like a pretty good time to stay North of Cali for a while, and my people that came back and who I put up sometimes were just RIP one day. And back then I would have been ready to roll how I had to, and it was pretty obvious that my work out routines and shit were already being examined by people in county down there. It's boobytrapped as fuck. Up North and elsewhere it's drama, it's corrupt, it's scandalous, but that political tension is just not the same. At this point I have lived too long and been through too much bullshit to take any more orders or change radically my every earned morals and wisdom to merely survive. I am not being taken into any other dungeon alive, that's guaranteed. Too many of my real ones are gone, or RIP, I couldn't squander what little is left. I love CA, but I don't feel like I can stay that long with those laws, so it's special occasions only. I kinda feel like CA should just become twodifferent states. North and South are different worlds. Stay up e

Working on my bachelors in psychology to become a mental health/aoda therapist, so I can try and give back. I was once told that people who make it through to the other side, owe it to try and help others. Like there isn't a choice. When I see dudes like this trying to spread that good message, it makes me have hope, and reminds me that it's never too late to try and do good. Great interview!!

@Htwon Lifer, California and Texas are two different types of systems. Texas, you will get your day (death sentence), California, will lock you up in a cage and let the system kill you. Don't speak on things you know nothing about. The CDCR (old CDC) promoted the separation of races for 50 years (still does) and Dude is out now and middle aged. If he was a true bigot/racist, he wouldn't sit down with Big Herc. You being from Texas know about real racists.

Badger's right. The service/ the military is a good option that is worth considering for a lot of young people who come from tough backgrounds and who are going down the wrong path. Other guests on the Fresh Out Series have recommended the military for At-risk youths, too, I've noticed.
Like Bagder said, it's helped save a lot of people from going to prison.
Certainly, it's not for everyone but for kids, teenagers and young adults, even, who are at a crossroads in their lives, lost, directionless and caught up in that life, the military is a viable suggestion.
I don't want to sound like a recruitment commercial and of course, it has it's inherent risks and dangers but it's really no more or no less dangerous than the street life already is.
