He tells Ian he just kept working, in reality it was the exact opposite. He gave this convoluted response, that gave no answer to what he did. He would literally get paid to start a job, then he wouldn't finish it. Then move on to the next family and do the same. That's all he had to say. Giving all this info about adjusters and inspectors is a load of shit trying to confuse listeners. Guess he doesn't realize people can just look up what he really did? 🤦‍♂️

Ya all you gotta do is read the judges description on how his father acted in court and the statements made to the judge and you’ll see where the son gets it from. The judge stated he did not think the elder Thayer was not remorseful at all and would stare at the the victims in court and stated the company he started in the early 90s was more his sons than his, and that it was in his wife’s name, even though he would collect checks from victims and take them on tours of previous work they did to convince them to work with them.
He can’t take any accountability for his actions, you know what they say, like father like son.

Robbing people by means of insurance fraud is a separate category of robbing people. It’s non-violent, which is why the potential prison sentences aren’t as long (but usually cost the accused much more financially with things like restitution payment, insurance back-pay garnishment, IRS penalty fee’s, etc.)

If you are taking money from one gig and stacking it on the next gig, and so on and so forth, I just don’t see a scenario where you don’t track your paper trail and eventually get yourself out of the hole somehow, whether it’s a loan or whatever. Congrats on your success Ian! Your hard work is admirable.
This podcast has been very interesting & I was hooked after watching one Tik Tok.
Not gonna lie though, this one was hard to watch/listen to. He seemed very uninterested in being in this interview. At the beginning there was nothing to hook onto. Quick cut & dry answers, without getting much background. Later he finally gets to talking and giving some detail and it was easier to follow but, the first 3-5 minutes of a video can define the outcome. If it’s not interesting, a lot of people will dip out early.
Mad props to him for putting his story out there, I’m sure it’s not an easy thing to do. No hate or trying to bash him. It’s just the lack of effort made this a hard episode to want to watch. If you don’t wanna interview, totally fine, just don’t do it. If you’re gonna do it though, please put in some effort. Remember people are putting in work, & spending money for you to tell your story. Provide them the same effort. Do your research, watch previous interviews to get an understanding of how it’s going to go. If you’re uncomfortable talking about how you grew up, knowing that’s how ALL these interviews start, just simply don’t do it.

Small construction companies are inherently running very deficits. Insurance companies are the worst institutions. They should NEVER be publicly traded companies because they are running to please shareholders rather than doing what they are supposed to do, pay out claims to people that have legitimate claims. They NEVER pay on time. Insurance companies are CRIMINALS! They collect TONS of money and rarely pay what is needed or on time!

Recently new follower just came across your channel month or two ago and seemed to really grow on me and my roommate, so keep up the good work! So as far as nicknames go, my very first time going to jail I was looking at 12 counts Res. Burglary, x2 Strikes and an unfathomable amount of time @ 19yrs old, 6'1", 165lbs soaking wet, and couldnt be MORE NAIVE from being raised on the COLD, HARD streets of Calabasas, which meant that my case was assigned to the Malibu Beach courthouse, which it turns out NO ONE ELSE in the entire LA County Jail system was assigned there which earned me the nickname Malibu's Most Wanted! After 2yrs of court and being told by Judge L. Mira, "you're the only person person I've given more chances to than Robert Downey Jr, Don't make me regret it!" I plead to 2 counts 2nd Degree Burglary & 1 count Commercial Burglary, Rehab & 5yrs Joint Suspension w/my records sealed to ALL BUT the Government!
But ya the commissary is a straight scam especially in California since one of the three catalogs you can order from is owned by the prison guard Union! where else do Maruchan Ramen Noodles for $1.35-$1.55 each when you can get 10 for $1 on the streets!??!?!?!!?! And can you believe they BANNED DC Shoe Co shoes after finding out about the "Dos Cinco" gang!?!? What makes that so horrible is they just happened to be punk-ass SNY indeed!!

You didn't understand because every word out of his mouth was a lie. When there was a house fire in his community, he would run to the scene, and if the victims were elderly or in any way vulnerable, he would get them to hire him to demolish and rebuild, hiring him that night while they were still in shock and devastated. Then he would take a huge down payment for a complete rebuild, pretend to start, then disappear. Victims found out he stole the money and never even applied for the needed permits to build their home. He stole almost $800k and got his father also sentenced because it was his father's company. He also was dumb enough to be on recorded lines from jail, bragging to his family how much he stole and how he would just get a short time in a low-level camp for it, which is not what he got. He's an unethical slime bag who can't tell the truth for anything.
