This whole sketchbook could be turned into a printed hardcover copy and it would sell out! It's absolutely delicious! TO THIS DAY I still can't believe your sketchbooks are so YUMMY! It's such a delight every time you post a sketchbook tour. The juiciest, sweetest treat! BIG LOVE FOR U! XOXO
@@SophieMcPike yes! I have several art books of sketchbooks. I’ve created an art book but perhaps it won’t be a trilogy after all - maybe I include highlights from my sketchbook. Let me know if the big fat art book becomes a reality 🥰🥰🥰
@@SophieMcPike ikr! Been finding alot of cool aussie artists lately :)) im from perth myself! :) but i was born in adelaide and would love to go back there one day!
I love your self-portraits! Your tip of splashing some colours before starting, I started doing this to remove the fear of the white page. It really helps. Beautiful sketchbook 😍
I think looking at your sketchbook just cured my artblock ✨️haha It's amazing how colorful and free your art is, I get soo inspired, even when I find myself blocked or too much in my head to draw anything ♡ you just make me want to whip out all my art supplies and just draw whatever ♡ Thank you for sharing your art journey with us :)
Your sketchbooks are always such an utter joy, I love not only the scribbles and colours, but the glorious crunchy sounds of the pages as you turn them I’m drawing right along as you flip through this, I hope you do some videos of you sketching in your latest book, I love working along to those videos! ❤
the freedom of creativity that flows through your sketchbooks (and your art in general!) is the reason I'm trying to change the way I approach mine, thank you for sharing your art and experiences throughout this sketchbook tour, it's so helpful and encouraging 💜🎨🌈
Your sketchbooks are always such a joy to look at! The way you tackle your blank pages with just blobs of colour is very inspiring and it's something I'd love to explore more. I notice that when I cover my pages in blobs of paint, I'm still unconsciously thinking of: 'What could this become? What does it look like?' And I want to let go of those thoughts!
Sophie!! Your editing is getting better and better. You’ve always made amazing videos, but some how they’re getting even better!! Also since I last commented I went and became friends with my sketchbook. Thank you for being such an inspiration for sketchbooking. It truly can be whatever you want ☺️🫶🏻
So beautiful Sophie, there is so much freedom, lovely creation, and new concepts there. I hope I can be as free as you in my sketchbook . Such a great video , thanks for sharing 🌼🍄🌷
I adore you right back! Thank you for sharing your book and your SELF. Your art goes thru my eyeballs and ga-bongs into my brain. I LOVE the way your art feels in there. You know what I mean. THANK YOU, sweetie. 🩷🩷🩷
Wow, it's amazing! the portraits (yourself and others) are absolutely beautiful, I love how you paint the page and then draw on it, I have to try it ❤️
Ahhh, look at all the beauty contained in one little book!🤩Also, loving the spinning book intro/outro - very cool editing! And can we talk about how cute your new little scribbling Sophie gif is? Adorable🥰
I loved this tour, Sophie!! It inspires me so much to get back into my sketchbook. The landscape at 16:31 is so lovely I gasped :0 (along with many other pages haha)
6:06 I also like to add random colours from paint to draw on top of later, love how you’ve combined that here 🥰inspired to draw even though I draw most days anyway 😊
Thanks for this very inspiring video like always. It's been two month without drawing or anything for me. And now I really have the urge to paint thanks to you :3 big hugs love your art so much
Hello! I just discovered you and ❤❤❤ your sketchbook and art style!!! I’m going to head right over to your Patreon, yay 😁. Can you please share what inks you used at the very end when starting your new thin paper journal? That blue and other colors are gorgeous 🌸🦋
Yay, thank you!!!!! The inks I used were from an ink advent calendar I got last year. I think the brand/company is Diamine… not sure if I’m spelling that right!
Sophie I love all of your sketchbooks so much! They've inspired me to be more experimental and dedicated in my own art practice. I have a question about the neocolor II, because for me it transfers terribly to the opposite page. I see you have double page spreads that use it all over and aren't chaotically stamped with residue. Do you protect your pages somehow while drawing? Do you use fixative? Or do they just adhere better to the gouache? What's the secret :o
Thanks Oliver!!! I will pop a piece of paper against a page with the neocolor pastels while I draw on the following few pages. But the paper ends up falling out or I use it again for other pages as I go. But there is definitely residue of the drawing there sometimes!
