Alone in the Mountains (Story 2)

Last week I packed up all of my food and went to the mountains with just everything I needed and stayed in my SUV, it's kind of like van life but in a SUV. I live in Western Canada.
5 years ago I left the city and bought a cottage or also known as a cabin in the wilderness to reconnect with my roots in the forest. I still live in the countryside, but this last weekend I decided to stay in my SUV. I love the idea of romanticizing life, but it wasn't until I meditated on what a simple life really is. I decided to bring mindfulness, minimalism, and slow living back into my life. What happened was a year of absolute change. I have always had a strong connection with nature, but after moving to the city my life became busy with the opinions of what other people thought I had to be.
Once I let go of that, looked more into nature and the valley I live in. Slowly and surely, as I began to let go of the layers of false identity and reconnect with my true self, I started to enjoy my world again. What was once dull became full of color and even this year I feel like I am seeing life for the first time.
