    You could blend 100LL AV Gas. Just google octane calculator to figure out how much of each to get you desired octane

      @@HTMR exactly, nothing like the smell of race fuel. Really amazing to see these older bikes brought back nicer than when new. Really can appreciate the hard work and passion that goes into a build like this.

    I have a 03 kx250 and 03 kx500. How much of a difference is the 250 after the port and polishing job?

    Try the b9es or b9eg
    Both race plug $5 to $7

      That's what I usually run

    I've never considered NGK as cheap plugs. All my engines have them.

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  3 роки тому

      What I meant is that I'm running the cheapest "standard" NGK which runs $2 for break in / jetting changes etc...

    This looks like a 2005 engine? But the frame? Perhaps is painted. As i got a hold of one myself a 2007 kx 250 last year of production i am going to tear it apart, as i am going to cryoheat the transmission gears. But in all honestly i am semi novice so i am slightly worried wich parts that might be in the spectrum of being weared and how to properly analyse them.
    Doing a long term project of a factory replica with carmichael rc 2001 and stewarts sr 05. So obviously the engine is going to be sent out for vapor blasting, coatings etc, but i want to do the tear down of the engine /parts myself. It will be a tricky build but i guess i also learn along the way. Just happy that i found one in mint condition with only one owner.

      Yes an 05', frame was powdercoated by previous owner. I have a engine video tutorial here: howtomotorcyclerepair.com/kxenginerebuild/

    U should do a smart carburetor with tps for this build

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  3 роки тому +1

      I can jet the stock carbs to run pretty good. Any reason for the smart carb? I know they self tune for altitude adjustments, which is not a concern in my area.

    • @ModifiedM14
      @ModifiedM14 3 роки тому

      @@HTMR the one with the tps is supposed to be the top of the line care free race carburetor and I've never seen a kx250 with that carb plus with the cylinder work that u had done

    • @ModifiedM14
      @ModifiedM14 3 роки тому

      @@HTMR however that carb could cost about 800 but definitely looks very different from the lectron carburetor
