We Americans are so unimaginative, with all these whiny complaints about how the actor doesn't look like Whitney. There is more to portraying a character than a physical resemblance, and there was certainly so much more to Whitney than her specific facial features.

I watched the movie yesterday, I give 6.5 because it was rushed and they cut a lot of scenes which could explain why this and that happened in Whitney’s life. They need to do a series! They could put the scenes in which Whitney broke up with Robyn and the scenes of her her relationship with Eddie because like that it makes it seem that Bobby was a beard lol.
The actors who played Whitney and Bobby didn’t have enough chemistry like the chemistry that Whitney and Bobby had in real life.
One thing that got on my nerves was the way Clive portray himself like he was the one who was doing everything for Whitney ( especially the movies and the soundtracks), while we know that in reality Clive never chose a movie for Whitney, he didn’t even want her to do a movie 🙄🙄🙄.

I honestly loved this movie. Yes I know it’s not 100% perfect, and it never will be. But Whitney was the perfect combination of amazing singing voice, model looks, and good personality, and it’s not easy to portray someone like that. Plus, they went into detail and had Naomi do the hand movements that Whitney did, and they also taught me some stuff abt Whitney that I didn’t know. For example, I didn’t know that she was gay until I watched the movie. Overall this was a very good movie and I highly recommend

The clip of "If you say my eyes are beautiful" just shows the Whitney completely drowns out Jermaine so she had to tone her voice down because it was so god-given powerful. There will never be another voice like that in our lifetimes. I mean just LISTEN to her parts in the song, she blasts Jermaine out of the water, that's 10% of her final form.
Whitney always denied this, how is this ok to put something in the movie that Whitney didn't confirm? It's disrespectful on so many levels. Amen! I don’t believe Robin’s reaction to Jermaine Jackson was like that at all. I don’t blame these talented actors at all.
No matter how many damn clips these people post, it still doesn't excuse a pi$$ poor movie that was horribly mis-cast with the main lead. No matter how good Naomi was, she only convinced the delusional fans that she was Whitney. She even had the integrity to admit herself that she looks nothing like Whitney and I loved her more for it, she's honest. This movie sucked. It had no love, care or time taken to make it and I'm not surprised it bombed at the box office and has been overlooked at all the major awards. The saddest part, Sony didn't even fully back this movie. The mere fact they didn't even push this movie to be released before the major awards deadlines says it all. To those who think this is a masterpiece.....carry on!! Her estate needs new executors who actually give a damn about upholding her and her legacy and not just making money. It's not about you, Whitney worked hard and she deserved better.

That was an unauthorized version of Whitney's story. They just gathers all the UA-cam videos of news and Whitney and Bobby interactions/interviews and made up their story about them. This biopic was based off the family's books and Robyn's books. And Clive Davis, whom Whitney spent her entire career with.

This is exactly why I don't like the movie it focus more on her with robin more than anything seems like. Like we get it. Whitney and Robyn Where Young and experimenting like most young people do when they're teenagers in high school or college experiment and explore and find their way robin realize she like's women more and became a lesbian, Whitney was more into men and went her way and they stay friends case close. The movie should have focus more on her growing up and other relationships with family , her interaction with fans other things that happened in her life.
It focussee on their relationship because it was a big part of Whitney’s life, Bobby brown even said that if Robyn stayed in Whitney’s life, she’d probably be alive today.
And don’t reduce their relationship to an experiment, they loved and cared for one another

Whitney Houston was not gay, she was abused by a gay female member of the family, and she has been fighting for that all her life because people around her took adventure of her fame, so she look for something to fill that void, even if she has to go through child abuse incident which she never ever get any help from it, she was confuse. The people that she close the most even her own husband, all use her because of her fame, so many jealousy, envious, pride greed and drugs, and she couldn’t handle all that. Is sad that she died young, when she finally found some peace and was getting a hold of her life when she show up at Oprah show, and talk about how she learns from all of these , and she finally moving forward with her life.
I hope she finds peace, healing and forgiveness in her last moment on earth. RIP Whitney.

@@elainelksuabernet Well you have to understand addiction to know that it doesn't matter how much money you have, how successful you are or what kind of family you come from. Addiction does not discriminate. Also ALL of Cissy's children ended up strung out on crack that wasn't happenstance there is a genetic component at play as well. People need to stop associating Whitney's addiction with her sexually being repressed. They are mutually exclusive. I do believe Whitney had a relationship with Robyn and was in love with her as a young woman, but she began to have experiences with men after that relationship ended and she genuinely preferred men. Kids experiment with all kinds of things in their youth just because Whitney had a gay experience doesn't make her gay. If Whitney wanted Robyn she could have had her they stopped messing around in 1982 and from that year on Whitney was with nothing but men she was not a repressed lesbian but it makes for a good story. I think Whitney loved Robyn like a sister, but she was no longer in love with her. I think Robyn is STILL in love with Whitney and she was so loyal all of those years thinking she still had a chance with Whitney.

Ok I finally saw the movie cause I bought the dvd. BOY Was I disappointed for starters the time line and what was presented as highlights of whitney s career to me in my opinion did not really shine and they also forgot other accomplishments and big sections of her music and acting career and as for her younger years they didn't show her child hood where they could've shown the trauma she endured one day playing with her two brothers.. according to cissy houston whitney s mother. Claims whitney almost lost her voice and had almost punctured something near her throat which could've damaged her vocal box..when she was playing with her brothers a coat hanger had got stuck in her throat area and they could've shown more of the filming of the Bodyguard ..not to mention the other major big motion picture deals where she had starred along side Denzel Washington in the Preachers wife and her soundtrack to waiting to exhale and preachers wife were major successful as well as the Bodyguard .I thought coming from the same people who brought us the biopic of Queen Bohimium Rapsody like they showcased all of Queen s major hit songs ..would've done the same here for the whitney houston movie. I was so disappointed to not see her preparing for her supposed I look to you album and they could've ended with whitney s movie Sparkle and how she was producer on that film as well as doing her final actin role looking vh healthy as ever...and then after they could've just shown the Beverly hills Hilton and in writing say whitney suddenly unexpectedly passed or something like in that nature ..and top it all the lady playing whitney and the actor portraying Clive Davis did not look like them at all.. overall they whithey lifetime movie had a better casting of Clive and the Robyn Crawford character. Than this 2022 I wanna dance with somebody.. also the dvd release had no good special features and no deleted scenes which I see here on UA-cam that there are indeed some deleted scenes in existence don't know why they didn't include it on the dvd... I think it's a shame that even whitney houston s sister in law and her brother. GARY Were behind in approval to this movie and what is shown on this all over the place whitney so called biopic. Whitney deserves a better biopic about her life story really..I'm so scared of what they may do for the big upcoming Michael jackson movie biopic. Listen, no shade to this actress, but Whitney was damn near the most beautiful woman in the world with a perfect voice. This was never gonna be an easy casting and I don't think they even came close to getting it right. Whitney's magic was firing on all cylinders. They found the right person to play Elvis, but they didn't find the right person to play Whitney. I also think a weak script and possibly weak direction don't help.
