Happy Friday Kelly! Hope the workload won't be too much for too long. Or at least you'll be able to find a comfortable groove within it all. What a neat topic. You have me curious about that Henry Roth now. I found Stone Reader on dvd recently though still have yet to watch it. Take good care and happy reads. 😊 -Carm & house-sitting furz
Carm! Drop everything and go watch Stone Reader! Seriously! The documentary isn't about Call it Sleep, but they do spend some time on it. But it's such a great film!!!
Hey Kelly! Can you tell I’m catching up on watching BookTube today? After my frantic prize reading, it took me a couple weeks before I started wanted to read at all. But since I have started back, I’ve read Betsy-Tacy go Downtown - which I ADORED! It was exciting to see Winona since I gave her book on my shelf too. I’ve also just started Heaven to Betsy and I’m looking forward to really settling into Deep Valley for the next couple of weeks. Sending you love and extra energy to get through your work tasks. Thank you for still taking the time to share with us and doing this great Tag.
I LOVE the one where they go downtown. I may have actually cried. It’s my favorite of all of them. Stay in Betsy-Tacy world, friend. It’s a good place to be! 💛
Hi Kelly! Fun tag. The book that sits on my shelf for the longest time is Pride and prejudice, somehow I am not eager to read it. Hopefully one day I will 😊. Hope you have time to relax and reading. Please take care my friend 💛
I am embarrassed to admit that Moby Dick is the book that has languished the longest on my TBR. I even purchased the beautiful Easton Press version to entice me into reading it. I’ve started it several times and never gotten past chapter three. One of these days, it will happen.
I haven’t read Moby Dick either! That would have been a good answer to my own prompt. Or the Iliad. My mom gives me strange glances when I read Shakespeare (I.e. why bother?), but she was livid when she found out that I hadn’t read Moby Dick! Go figure. Thanks for sharing. 💛
Thanks for doing the tag! You are the first prompt to do it I think haha, and the first person to make a prompt of someone else's name which is good because I need them for the 2025 edition of the tag 😁 The Times Travellers Wife is still just awful.
I hope you can find a work life balance that can make the summer better for you. I love the Betsy Tacy series and read them way back when you and Kate Howe did a readalong of the series. I need to reread them. They’re so good!
I need to reread them as well! I feel a little better about work, but still may switch out some hours in order to meet my own personal deadlines. Hopefully I will just need to do that once! 💛
Paris to the Past sounds so interesting. I’ve never been to France, but I hope to some day. Betsy Tacy is such a sweet series. I started reading it when you and Kate Howe (and another cohost?) did a readalong of the books. But I’ve yet to finish the series.
Paris to the Past is fascinating, and I hope you’ll get there some day as well! I’d start at the beginning with Betsy-Tacy books if it was 2019 when you started. Plus the early books are just so charming and moving. Thanks for watching and commenting! 💛
One of the longest books on my TBR is The Tale of Genji, which I've only read short excerpts of prior. I'd also love to read Samuel Richardson's Clarissa, which is over a million words. I meant to reread the Betsy-Tacy series this year, but haven't gotten around to it yet. It took a long time for the books to fully grow on me because I'd heard so much hyperbolic praise at Goodreads and Amazon, making it seem like these are some of the greatest books ever created. I wish people would stop hyping up books, films, and albums, since it can lead to disappointment when they don't immediately live up to that lofty praise. I've actually had better experiences with things many people castigated as terrible, since I found they weren't nearly as awful as claimed, and that I even liked them. Some, like The Who's swan song It's Hard, I loved instantly.
Fun tag! Some great & creative book choices. However, I'm totally in agreement with your mother's friend: I'm a life-long Chicagoan who loves Chicago history, but I will NEVER, EVER read The Devil in White City.
I totally get it. That’s so cool that you live in Chicago! I lived there for a year but still didn’t see everything I wanted to. Thanks so much for sharing! 💛
@@booksimnotreading I live straight north of there, near Kedzie & Foster (North Park/Albany Park). It's a nice neighborhood; just wish we had a bookstore. Closest one is Women&Children First, which is wonderful except for the parking. 😞 And sorry about the crazy work life....when I was working we had busy summers and sometimes I found those weekend hours were more productive because nobody else was there to bug me. Be sure to give yourself some downtime & enough sleep & be kind to yourself ❤
Learning things about him that I had no clue about that are not good things.... one such example was when he first met Priscilla... he was a grown man and she a child. If she had been over 18, I wouldn't have as much of an issue with it. And how their relationship progressed was icky; lying to her parents etc. His whole Christian, nice guy persona was wrecked for me.
Thanks for the tag Kelly and the kind usage of the channel name. Also glad to see nonfiction quite a bit in there. I'll have to go check my subscribed list and find some good channel names too lol
"Montie Adkins Books". I put no thought into a creative booktube title. Trying to match booktube titles to these tags is gonna be hard, so I make no promises. I would rather books that have movies have original cover art though if they match pretty well then that is ok. The I, Robot film had nothing to do with the original novel or screenplay treatment but at one point Will Smith's picture was on it. I did actually enjoy the film though.

This is a wonderful tag. I love how it highlights the community, their niche, and the books. Thanks for tagging me, I will definitely be doing it!
Very exciting! 💛

Hi Kelly, longest book on my TBR is Middlemarch 😂. Great tag. Go well.
Keep it there! 😂😂😂 Oh, you’ll probably love it! Be well, friend. 💛

Good luck balancing your workload with your booktube schedule. Don't overdo it.
Thanks Jim! It really went into full swing yesterday and that’s when my copier/printer stopped working! 😂
I've read that 2 volume Elvis....i loved it yet hated it. It totally squashed some of the love i had for him.
Really? What squashed your love for Elvis? Very curious to know. 💛

Montie, I definitely have bailed on some tags before. No pressure! Have a great weekend! 💛
@@booksimnotreading As I have been tagged again (Genre Books) and reflected, I think I can do this then.
I hope you are able to find a way not to work on Saturdays and holidays.
Thanks for tagging me. I will do this soon
Have a great weekend, Stuart! 💛
