Same I’ve been using mine everyday for the past two years painting marine objects and ships and I throw mine in a ultrasonic cleaner at the end of the day for 1 hour on my way out the work shop. Come back next morning and it’s gleaming. Even polished the stainless the other week too. Like a mirror now 😂😂😂😂
I really like this gun. Easy to take apart and clean thoroughly, I haven’t replaced packing but I keep a spare in my equipment box. Packing are $35.00. Highly recommend this gun.
@@robertroy7798 where could I find one of those ultrasonic cleaners? Is there one you’d recommend? I’ve been painting for 10 years and never heard of it
One thing I do when spraying on extention ladders is to tie a small rope on my line and a pot hook on the other. Then I can leave my line on the ladder without packing up and down all day!
I have guns that are over 20 years old with thousands of gallons of paint through them and have never repack a gun, I recently dug out 2 guns that had been in my shop for 10 years covered in paint I soak them in acetone and they work perfect
I've used one for a few years now. Had to replace the trigger because of a coworker trying to pry it off.I spray vaulted ceilings with some pretty long extensions. The light weight is a plus. The ease of replacing the packing is another plus. I spray WD40 on my gun, wand threads and tip guard. Make for easier clean up. I've been painting since 1984. I like this gun.
i love the new contractor pc gun, lighter, trigger easy ,easy replace cartridge.ill have to use it more to find problems.little bit expensive here in newzealand
I have had mine for almost two years and I just run it through a heated ultra sonic parts cleaner with aerospace degreaser after every other job and have had no issues thus far. I have noticed if I don’t clean it frequently, when I let off the trigger there is a slight delay before it stops spraying. I too, leave mine with the two finger set up so I never adjust the slide mechanism.
Why not setup a test and see how both guns perform? At the end of the day that's what we're interested in. Not the colour or anything else. Just an idea. Keep up the good work though!
I've been using the new gun for a year or so, seems OK, I agree with the trigger, no need to have more than two fingers pulling, I never change the setting. Only thing I can say is the kit doesn't last as long I've noticed. The needle wears alot faster
I have to agree with you about the gun because blue does it make it better I like the old gun myself I want to make it up to your store I am 56 I have been painting since I was 15 never done anything else but being a painter and finisher anyhow I love you videos
I bought one at least 2 years ago and I just love the trigger feel and I did break one but I had a left over contractor gun but they go a longer time before they just start to spit paint. I have not attempted a repack yet but I will. You are right about breaking that trigger hing.

Spraying for 20 years. Contractor PC guns suck. Why would I use 4 finger over 2 finger? Because After 20 years of spraying, I wish I would have started with 4 finger trigger pull.. 20 years of spraying with a hard pull on a 2 finger trigger gun catches up with you. Hands hurt, too much tension. My advice: Skip the pc and new pc contractor gun, and Get the FTX gun. Easy to control, hands don't hurt as much spraying all day. Hi Idaho painter, I am the Washington painter.. Thanks for your videos. Starting my own series :)
Thanks for the input. Something simple. Move the trigger , from the two finger setting,,,,to the three or four finger setting,,,, and PRESTO!!! The safety no longer works.
Hey Chris! Love your videos. I started as an Idaho painter myself. I've been in business less than a year though and still have a lot to learn. How do you know when a gun needs to be rebuilt? Google was pretty unhelpful finding the asnswer.
Chris question repacking a gun? What is that for and why must this be done? Is it from build up with paint inside the gun? If you have not already done a video repacking one could you make it to show guys and gals how it is done and why ir when it needs to be done ty so much bud! Love your videos and your skills are The fanominal
DIY brusher and roller here. So much learning baked into your videos Chris--Thank you for all your posts. I can see value in learning to spray. The mess left behind after any painting project is my #1challenge, i feel spraying can take this problem to another level. Have you done a video on building a spray booth, either one-time use or portable/reuseable?
I have broken 2 of them. The trigger has a piece of metal that is not made out of real metal. I don't know how it broke either because it did not get dropped or banged
Had mine for over a year top metal is soft getting all kinds of dings and scratches wish it was stainless and as tough as the body but trigger pull is awesome
My entry-level Graco SG2 gun repacking kit is about 60% of the cost of an entire setup. I will be getting a Titan RX Pro soon, and keep the SG2 as a spare.
Yeah I use the newer contract gun and the issue on that is the trigger breaks easy and the handle and the gun The thread on the gun in the handle strips pretty easy The gun is a very sensitive gun
I really enjoyed your review. I have been using the contractor gun for years and years problem free and really wanted to "upgrade" to the contractor pc gun for basically how cool it looks alone. What stopped me? All the stupid plastic external parts. Why would I want to adjust the trigger from two fingers... Why would I want a plastic safety lock... Why is most of the packing kit plastic... These are serious concerns that worry me long-term when I'm confident my original contractor gun will work fine for 20more years. I might as well just paint the top half of that blue and the trigger black lol
I want to start a side job painting fences but I’m not sure on how to charge I’ve been watching your videos and I would appreciate your advice on how to charge the square footage
Chris, have you ever thought of trying to change the trigger pull on the contractor gun to a softer pull? I assume there is a spring in there that is tensioned to a certain amount... maybe replace it with one with less tension(probably have to contact Graco support to see if that is an option).
So here's my experience. I tried it and right out of the box it was spitting on me (no extensions attached) and took a few jobs to go away. The next thing I dont like about it is the hand guard pops out all the time. I way prefer the Rx pro to the Graco gun but the Graco gun is still going strong after a year of use so we will see if it hits the same repacking mark as Titan or not.
Chris great Video. Question, I just bought a Graco end whip and it made the gun spit like I was using and extention. I wasn't though, just the gun. I took it off the whip and no more spit. Is that normal?
@@Idahopainter thanks for getting back. I love your channel and have learned a lot watching. As to my question, I didn't think it was normal either because it's all before the gun so no air should be present. Unlike the gun extensions. Any idea though why it may have happened? I was spraying 4.5" base. I didn't realize it at 1st but I had a 311 tip on trying to shoot an unthinned exterior paint. Would having too small of a tip make it spit? Originally, I thought I had a 413 but it was constantly clogging which made me start looking at the tip. I switched to the only other tip I had, a 515 and that solve the clogging but used way too much paint. Will a 413 tip shoot unthinned paint with out clogging or do you have to go 415?
I agree with you to much going on with that new gun and after years of having sone tension on the trigger pull probably be hard to get use to and would be a night mate to ckean

Think about it. Most painters ( not all ) work with white colors, off whites and light colors. So the pants being white helps by blending with the paint when it touches the pants. Also back in the day most colors weren't available like today. So white and off white were very standard colors. You see?
@@somenteasescrituras4064 I wasn’t sure if was tradition or not since I often se them in white pants and I did think maybe it’s to hide the lighter colours but they always have darker paint splattered all over them and in my mind i was like then what the point of them always wearing white but from what you said about paint often being lighter colours back in the day it seems like that today it just seems some sort of tradition
