This same thing happened to me. After an accident i got a rental from Hertz through my insurance. I had it for 3 days (it was supposed to be for 10days) and Hertz started calling me saying i needed to return the car. I called both Hertz and my insurance company and had them on the phone together. As soon as Hertz heard my insurance agent on the call they back pedaled and claimed it was a “paperwork” mistake. Didn’t have any issues after that.
After paying them to rent a truck (emergency situation, basically charged me $180/day So it was supposed to be, ended up being about $220) I had the truck less than 12 hours and drove it about 100 miles. Filled it up about a mile from where I had to drop it off on my return trip. They charged me a $40 plus dollar fuel charge that i didnt realize for a few days until i checked my bank statement. Crooked! My first time with Hertz. Oh. When i called the location (Lincoln,Ne) to tell the representative, we argued, he told me he'd hang up on me! Never again!!! Had rented several times in the past from Enterprise, no issues!
Except this has happened to tons of people. This was a news story months ago and several people have been arrested for stolen vehicles that were actually rented.

I argued with Hertz when they overcharged us by double and they threatened to call the police on us! I haven't rented from them since!
Hertz always try to over charge us. Everytime
