The future is wild made me realise that I wasn't the only one making up new animals and speculating on future or alternative evolutionary paths for animals as a kid. It validated the idea for me. Now, all these years later, it turns out there's an entire community of people doing this. It's incredible.
I remember watching Future is Wild as a kid, absolutely loved it and I still think a lot of the animals in it are really neat. Makes so much sense now knowing that Dougal Dixon helped work on it 😂
I've never heard of Cosmic Safari but I would love to watch it now. I miss old Discovery channel documentaries like that.
For the longest time I thought TFW was half a fever dream and half a prehistoric documentary, but since discovering it was an actual thing I look on it fondly because I watched it the day it aired the first time on Animal Planet
I’ve never heard of cosmic safari so this was enlightening
If you can find it you should give it a watch
I can't say I've seen Cosmic Safari, but, TFIW has a nostalgic place in me due to seeing it as a kid. I remember LOVING the land squids in one of the eps.
I remember watching the Future is Wild cartoon series as a kid and was very enjoyable for me (love spec evo even before I knew what it was!) and the docuseries too
Unfortunately I never heard of Cosmic Safari prior to your video, but I’m glad I got to see it
There's a Cartoon Series?
They should make a Series of After Man and Man after Man. Would love to see it
@@Firestar-TV Yep! Had the best opening song, and intro sums it up pretty well
“10,000 years into the future, a mega ice age is threatening humanity. My mission? Pilot the Time Flyer into the far off future and find a new home!”
Was on Discovery Kids and I think it can be found on UA-cam
@@garg4531 cool, would be nice if I can find it
@@garg4531 found a Playlist with all Episodes. Just wish it would be 2D because I don't really like the Look of the Show that much but I'll take a Look later
If you haven't already, I would recommend watching 'Alien Planet.' It's a spec evo documentary and an adaptation of Wayne Barlow's Expedition book. I believe Alien Planet was released around 2005 or so, not too long after TFIW
The future is wild is what got me into specevo so I’m glad you’re giving it attention
Btw have you heard of this series called nature of predators?
It’s not exactly specevo but it still is pretty interesting and it shows alien and human societies clashing
No I haven't heard of that one, thanks for the recommendation
No problem!@@BewareCast
I'm Italian and I've had the Cosmic Safari DVD at home since I was a child, it was nice to watch a video talking about it, although after having only recently seen The Future is Wild I can say with quite certainty that I prefer the latter , probably because I found a terrestrial octopus nesting instead of a shark on another planet more "imaginative"
Never heard of Cosmic Safari, definitely cant wait to watch it! Thanks for pointing it out. 👍🏻
Cosmic Safari was my first spec evo documentary, long before I had any idea of the concept. I had it taped on a VHS off the Discovery Channel as a kid and I am eternally grateful to you for helping me find it again. I'm going to have to hunt down the Italian DVD now
TFIW was the first speculative evolution concept I had ever seen and it tickled some part of my brain and now I’m fully invested in the whole genre because of the dusty dvd set I found in the closet after my brother bought it probably before I was born
Cool!
Man I remember watching TFW as a kid, I was really intrigued and loved to just, imagine and follow the logic behind the speculations. Then I started playing Spore.
Btw man, you should do that, play Spore, using some examples from All Tomorrows, basically, be the Qu hahahaha
The discovery doc to spore pipeline is very real.
What you called a snails “tail” is actually called it’s foot funnily enough
Cosmic safari bug on the cover looks… familiar like a nomad flying bug
Indeed.
I was wondering how I ended up on The Future is Wild while listening to a bunch of your videos in and out of fever dreams. Now i know lol
I wish I could watch cosmic safari It looks really cool
As a side thought I had while listening, if you've never played them, I'd recommend 'Star Wars: The Gungan Frontier' and 'Impossible Creatures.'
Impossible Creatures is actually a really fun and different kind of RTS. Star Wars: The Gungan Frontier is an unbalanced mess but still worth fiddling around with as the concept of the game is very interesting.
I believe you can get both of them off the Internet Archive.
Love Your Videos :)
Cosmic safari was great
Any links or steams for cosmic safari. It was purged from yt
None that I know of I'm afraid
@BewaretheQu probably on the high seas somewhere

Awesome video!🤘
Much appreciated!
