It's so ironic to me, and I know that's by design. These songs lyrically are not joyful or happy. their about commercialism, they're about depression, they're about destruction. Yet Neil infuses all these songs with this childhood wonder type sound that makes the dark subject matter sound almost bright and cheery. It's some genius type shit man I swear.

Lemon Demon music really helped me to see life as a joy and not as a bunch of problems I had to solve ! I hope music (or other things) can have that type of power and it has given me the hope to be able to create for the joy of others and myself. Thanks for reading

I've found that I've always liked the spooky parts of Christmas. The Polar Express for example was and is one of my favorite movies ever. Just it gave mystery to Christmas. I used to live in a place that snowed a lot in December and it always brought around the Christmas spirit of having Christmas cookies while listening to Christmas music after going around in the snow. Every night brought around an environment that felt dark and unfamiliar with all the snow and every Christmas would feel mysterious and cool. I moved a while back and lost that entire environment that gave the Christmas vibe. This however has that sort of mysteriousness Christmas had to me as a child.

Well, four years in (of me listening to this) and I just noticed the 5/4 and 6/4 in CryptoSanta. Actually I can't stand christmas music, but this is one of my all-time favorite recordings, and pretty much one of the best Lemon Demon releases of forever.
I sure hope I timed this right… I guess while I’m here, I have to say… I can’t believe this album’s going to be ten years old next year, and the year after that, Lemon Demon itself will turn 20 years old!! Neil’s work has impacted my life whether I knew it or not. Loving both the wackiness of 80’s music, and having grown up in the internet age has made Neil one of my favorite artists of the modern age. Next year I’m going to work hard on a special 20th anniversary present for him!! Also - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!!
