as much as this is an amazing insight into what garden lodge looks like,(and im sure we have all wanted to know) I cant help but feel Freddie would be horrified at the thought of people filming Mary's home in this way. Freddie loved his privacy and im sure he would want the same for his best friend. I know no harm was intended by this video, but I honestly don't think this is what Freddie would want.
It's totally illegal, to do that and who ever filmed it can be done for, Invasion Of Privacy, and any smart people out there say he can't, the camera film's straights at the window.
Freddie was really smart !!! He didn't want his ashes or where his ashes were buried to be a shrine and being dug or invaded. Mary was a true friend and I'm sure she loved Freddie till death.

I was just reading Jim's book about how Freddie asked him to build a koi pond at Garden Lodge, after falling in love with them in Japan. There are Koi still, that makes my heart happy ♥
Not sure how I feel about this filming. I have arrived from the other side of the world and first day went to Garden Lodge. stood outside and took photos and felt at peace to be so close to where Freddie once was. To have walked the footpath he walked. I am now truly happy.

I understand that Mary Austen should have her privacy, but folks are curious about this lovely home. Perhaps if Mary had a brief video tour of the home that it would avoid folks sneaking around to see the home. She has done videos from the living room of the home in order to raise funds for the Mercury Phoenix Fund so it should not bother her to let people see a few of the rooms on a video and the garden of Garden Lodge. She should keep the bedrooms and other areas with his collections private as she wishes. This might prevent folks from sneaking around with video cameras. I don't think Freddie would mind as he had many friends in some of the downstairs rooms and I believe he did one or two interviews there.

I, too, clicked here expecting to see a little clip of the house, possibly even filmed with Mary's authorization...but this is an inexcusable invasion of her privacy. That she hasn't posted 24-hour security is testament to her patience and forbearance...but i suppose, after 21 years with Freddie, she must have learned a thing or two about the fanaticism of his fans. This is just further proof that someone needs to get the ball rolling and find a place for a permanent memorial to Freddie, where fans can make their pilgrimages to mourn.

I’ve always gathered, from hints and things I’ve read, that Freddie’s ashes are spread or buried beneath one of the trees in his garden. The cherry tree, I think. He had a particular favourite tree, I believe. In fact. I think Jim Hutton mentioned it in his book, saying that Freddie asked for his remains to buried there so that ‘I can keep an eye on all of you!”. This tree was also visible from their bedroom window, I believe. It would make sense, as he loved his home.

I’ve always gathered, from hints and things I’ve read, that Freddie’s ashes are spread or buried beneath one of the trees in his garden. The cherry tree, I think. He had a particular favourite tree, I believe. In fact. I think Jim Hutton mentioned it in his book, saying that Freddie asked for his remains to buried there so that ‘I can keep an eye on all of you!”. This tree was also visible from their bedroom window, I believe. It would make sense, as he loved his home.
I wonder if Freddie would like how it's looking now.

it looks like a coutry house thats been plonked right in a busy city, i can see now why fred loved it, its like a hidden cottage.i went there once and put flowers down at the garden lodge door.love him :(
I dont think the person who filmed this was trying to be disrespectful but were only trying to give his fans who've never been able to see Garden Lodge a small window into a part of what his former life was and how he liked to have his home. I for one am grateful. Thanks for posting.
