I have had that feeling for so long now Jack. The only thing really keeping this from being more popular is the simple fact that it's just not advertised enough. Some people will say, "It's better that it's underground" or something to that effect. But, the gameplay itself will always organically create the community. We need to see this game advertised more. End.
Disagree. The game has a very tough learning curve and the vast majority of players don't have the patience for that or have the ego that can take a bruising for a long time.
I started in PVP, got my ass handed to me over and over, so I went to PVE for a while to learn the maps and get a better feel for the gunplay. Returned to PVP and haven't look back.....2k+ levels later....
More advertising wouldn't hurt, never does, but that's not the reason it is a niche game.
@@touchgrasstryhard8604 I get where you're going but, don't think it's totally accurate. Compared to games like Squad, Hell Let Loose, Post Scriptum, etc.. ISS is much easier to get. I started on PvP and loved it from day one as did the majority of people I know who play it. Many of whom were coming to ISS on console in a wave to find something fill the void of BF and COD.
The fact that the game is HARD or HARDCORE for sure, is that I mean about the community cultivating itself. There are a lot more people out there interested in this style of play and honestly, it's the only one really doing it in a way that's so easily digestible. Game modes aren't complicated and roles are simple but important. Again, this isn't Squad.

@@DJ-sn2wn I do too. Would just be nice to see some broader coverage for this game. Especially considering how solid the core mechanics are.
I think what might be restricting the playerbase is just the lack of any real progression system. A lot of people like having that carrot on a stick to keep them coming back and playing more.
Would love to see you and Westie, Stodeh etc play this more and create some good content to boost this game.

Fun fact the A-10 warthogs “Hellfire” machine gun has so much firepower it can only be fired in bursts, as it slows down the jets speed, and could be significant enough for it to fall out of the sky under prolonged fire.

One of the games where you can immerse yourselves and opt in and out of casual or hardcore very easily. Severely underrated.

I bought this over bf2042, great game. Surprised me how good it is for £25 and the menu music reminds me of bf2.

Same....I was debating on which one, I couldn't even play the trial after a couple of hours do bf 2042. It wouldn't let me log in ....but this game is just so much fun. I like the voice chat....makes for interesting interactions

This game and Help Let Loose are really fun but I have to be in the right mood to play. Right now I'm addicted to Dying Light 2 it's so good one of the best open world games I've played in a long time!
The new update basically got rid of all the tiny details like eye color for security and pistol equip animations
Picked this game up a while ago and is hands down my favorite hardcore casual fps.
Jack - can you get microsoft's attention and convince them to put this on game pass. I agree the game is criminally underrated, and that could be just what the game needs to expand player base

Map Design on sandstorm is so fking good
still has a tight and active community even today. It has gotten a bit of a revived with the latest PS5 update. this was the game that brought me back to PC gaming after all the years on console !
Hardcore coop is so much fun. A little more relaxed compared to PVP and not as toxic, while still be serious.
Nah, I usually get a bunch of wanna be mil sim man children who rage when they die.
It has challenging co-op which is pretty fun.
Been playing this game for a while now. Hardcore Co-op (PVE) is by far my favorite and the closest thing to a realistic tactical squad gameplay on console.
Tho i play at SEA server its mostly people speaking maderin or something. But the thing that makes me happy is that everyone tries their best to speak english and communicate. We have a lot of fun this game is a gem
The Xbox version still doesn't have gore effects, ever counter strike condition zero in 2005 had gore/blood effects.

You "jump back" into games with quite a suspicious timing. They need all the good PR they can get for sure though.
Easily my favorite tactical shooter. The Gunplay, Audio, Weapons. Everything is so solid.
On PC this is a good game but on PS5 it is amazing.

Not because it plays better or looks better but because it is really the only thing of its kind on the system.
Also I like playing ot on the PS5 because Everyone has the same specs and controller and there are no hackers.
I just reinstalled it after watching this, I've only ever played against bots but I think its time to try against real players. There are some realism mods that take the game to the next level as well. Thanks for reminding me this game existed Jack!

For the M4A1 the iron sights, the option for flat top in the beginning of the video I’m in the marines and we call it the A Frame
FSP or front sight post is the correct term its a front sight and gas block combo. Flat top removes the FSP and replaces it with a standard low profile gas block that the rail usually covers
Love playing hardcore co-op. Slower movement speed and more realistic. So if you don't like the fast run speed you might enjoy the hardcore co-op. I would honestly like a hardcore pvp mode with the slower movement speed. I just don't enjoy the super fast paced movement. You will be trying to play slightly tactical and by the time you try to thoroughly clear an area a guy has already sprinted a circle around you. So because the pacing is fast a lot can change around you in little time. It reminds me of warzone or any other game that is non tactical and has the arena shooter vibe. It's definitely an action oriented game first and foremost.
Insurgency looks great though. The graphics are so good and it's such a clean art style. My eyes never get tired of looking at the game.
Again I highly recommend hardcore co-op for anyone who wants to enjoy the game at a slower tactical pace.
It had a little rough patch a while back but this game is REALLY good now.

Graphics and animations over all looks like operation: harsh doorstop ( this game under development ) the same engine probably and both looks so damn good !

@jackfrags The first Rainbow Six game I ever played was RS: Rouge Spear on the PC, at the time the gfx were really good, but obviously today's games make it look 8-bit lol but the gameplay was really fantastic, very much a medium milsim.
Next truly fantastic milsim I played after that was Operation Flashpoint that I played with a mate and my bro, was good times.
After that before I knew it Battlefield: 1942 came out and I was all over that like ants in a picnic basket 👍. Anyways love your channel dude, have a good one!

Been playing only this game for a couple months. It gets better and better the more you play it. The only issue with it is the team balancing is absolutely terrible and in such a competitive game it does affect the game in a big way.

I love this game! Just wish the player base hadnt gotten so toxic... the original Insurgency's Player base was pretty amazing (unless I just blocked out the negatives lol)

Insurgency has been one of my favorite co-op shooters, the only downside is some very inconsistent AI. Everything else is super tight and feels excellent, I miss playing it but none of my friends will play anymore due to the AI =\

Yeah it feels way more immersive not having medals and random bullshit pop up on your hud like in most fps games.
Sound is working as hud. Just gotta learn it. IRL.

Is it me or are these more realistic style games becoming way more fun to play than COD and BF due to the fact it’s just back to basics - clean weapons and gun play. No ridiculous perks, specialisms, gadgets etc.
BF and Cod should have modes like this.

@Cookie monster Arma 3 is wack. Had a lot of potential, but ended up with endless bugs that hasn't been fixed for 9 years. What a blast. I was more of a Squad guy, i was extremely lucky with squad mates when i used to play. They were amazing at every aspect of the game.

The part on the front of the m4 is called a post sight you’d keep the post on in case your sight died in the field you could still utilize iron sights hope that was helpful love your channel!

@@nickloven6728 I’m sure it has proper name but that’s the name that given in the army when I served and it’s the one I use to this day as a post rises and a mount falls easy way for me to always remember
Also you could get a cowitness sight picture which helps you train muscle memory and find the dot quickly.
@@acvfun I prefer a lower 1/3rd cowitness as it is the best of both worlds and provides less target obscurity.

@@tonsillectomy4002 I've heard from friends that are still on last gen that it can be rough at times performance wise but it seems like they're doing they're best to get it to run smooth. On the new consoles it now runs flawlessly. They we're extremely quick in fixing the bugs of the first week like leaning audio and so on. Very much recommend it
@@tonsillectomy4002 if you play on either of the next gen consoles it basically runs as smooth as it does in the video. Last gen has issues though unless you don't mind 30fps.
