Dziękuję bardzo‼️ I am a 100% 2nd generation Polish American, and this video awakened so many wonderful memories from my childhood. Going to my Grandparents home on Christmas Eve, looking for the Christmas Star, the Oplatek, the straw under the table cloth, and especially the long, long time at the table. This made all the children especially anxious because we all couldn’t wait to open our presents! And of course our strong Catholic faith. My adult children will all be home for Christmas Eve and my wife and I can’t wait to re-establish these beautiful traditions. Perhaps “Joan of Arc” bares some explanation. She is of course the Patron Saint of Soldiers. She was with me during some tough times in Iraq.
Hello, I’m so pleased that my video brought all those wonderful memories back for you. I love Polish Christmas traditions. They make Christmas so special. Have a blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
I want to learn to recite the Hail Mary prayer in Polish! I am 3rd generation Polish ancestry - my great grandparents were born in a small village near Warsaw. They knelt by their bed every night to say their prayers. I think of them so often. Their families immigrated to a large Polish farming community in Jamestown, North Dakota, in early 1900’s. I am trying to integrate my Polish ancestry into my life, in Pacific Northwest, USA. I very much enjoy your videos! Thank you!
Hello Julie, thank you for sharing your ancestry. It’s wonderful that you are trying to integrate Polish traditions into your life. We have so many beautiful traditions for Christmas and other religious feasts like Easter or All Saints Day. I try to follow Polish traditions as well even though I live in the UK now. They make all the difference to me. Thank you for watching my videos. I’m glad that you enjoy them. God bless you! ❤️
