      I couldn’t agree with you more. I lost my dad last month. We hunted together for the past 35 years. Seeing a video like this brings back a lot of great memories.

    @JZ This hunt was great! I will say Frankie's hunt definitely touched home and had me emotional. BUT BY FAR my absolute favorite BHOD Video is Season 1 Episode 8 when you were at you and your Dad's (R.I.P.) old spot and your Buck jumped the creek and back across! Lake County Buck. Still gives me goosebumps. BHOD!!!

    Great hunt! 2 questions: what do you guys do to de-scent your decoy? I’ve tried multiple different things to get the plastic smell off but it still has a lingering plastic smell. 2nd, what do you put on your decoys to prevent 2 different bucks from sledgehammering them long enough for a giant to walk out? That was hilarious

    • @bowhuntordie
      @bowhuntordie  2 роки тому +1

      1) Scent-A-Way scent killing spray or field wipes will do a good enough job to get rid of the scent out in the field. And as long as you get the "human" scent off of it, you should be good.
      2) Hope. 😅

    Quality decoy when it has antlers, still yet a buck approaches, contemplates mounting the decoy, brings out an even bigger buck, licking his nose, trying to catch a scent, clearly he came to either F….(breed) or Fight.

    • @bowhuntordie

      The only real way to be sure is to sacrifice one of them and shoot it into your target.

      @@jkmayer3 tune your bow. A properly tuned bow and tuned arrows will shoot broadheads exactly the same as field points. If your getting random erratic flight your probably slightly under spined on your arrows.

      Don't discredit the strength of an adult Canada goose. They have some pretty thick necks, and wings that can do some damage. 10 of them going at you at once, with nowhere to run, could be a bad deal.

    why is it everyone is using crossbows? it takes away from bowhunting in my opinion. I love bow hunting and dont think a crossbow counts unless you have an injury that prevents you from using a regular bow, or are a youth hunter(i'm not saying this about Clintons father personally) . Either you are all getting lazy and don't want to pull a real bow back or you have really sold out and trying to help sell ten point crossbows. I really miss the older seasons when everyone was in it for the hunt, it seems like its now one big commercial. can't tell you how many times I've heard you guys brag bout how great the broad head is. we get it your sponsored. Just wish we could watch like we used to without all the cramming of your free stuff down our throats.

    • @mothcake8928
      @mothcake8928 2 роки тому +1

      They’re sitting over a decoy in an open field, in a blind with carpet, windows, and rollling chairs, and you’re worried about the crossbow? IMO, nothing about this is real hunting. No offense to anyone involved. Just not my cup of tea personally speaking.

    • @bowhuntordie
      @bowhuntordie  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry you feel that way! But to be honest, nothing has changed with the way we film our hunts or what we talk about during them. Go back and watch our old stuff - we've always talked about broadheads since Day 1. Mostly because people want to know what we're shooting and if we don't tell them, they ask anyways. So why not include it? As for the crossbow hunts, there have definitely been a lot of them lately, but that's just the way the cards happened to fall. Todd had a bad shoulder on our elk trip, Justin's son Joey used one, and now Clinton's dad, who is in his 60's and hasn't shot a compound in over 2 decades. A Franki just like shoots deer, no matter what he's shooting them with. Even if the "people of UA-cam" don't like it. It has nothing to do with being lazy or not wanting to shoot compounds. We have a pile of videos coming in the next two weeks that are all compound kills. But be forewarned, we're going to tell you what broadhead we're using! Just close your eyes at that part. :)

    • @kenthorsen4558
      @kenthorsen4558 2 роки тому +1

      Now you know how the long bow and recurve guys felt when compound bows came around.
      We're all doing what we love, hunting.

    • @TheKarver79
      @TheKarver79 2 роки тому

      I have watched every episode you have put out, what I’m saying is you guys have gotten way more commercial about things and it was better in the early days. And I also said it had nothing to do with Clinton’s dad. I think someone in that position should use a crossbow and I’m not saying nobody should use one I’m just saying I hardly see it as bow hunting. And for the commenter about the office chairs and blinds on wheels we will just call it GLUNTING (glamour hunting). Like people in these houses on wheels and calling it camping. Also you guys need thicker skin in the comment section. Telling me to close my eyes is real mature. If you can’t handle the comments from your viewers maybe you should close all comments on your videos. Besides closing my eyes wouldn’t stop me from hearing it anyways. And since comments are open that means we are all entitled to our opinions.

    • @TheKarver79
      @TheKarver79 2 роки тому

      As a side note I also said youth hunters and injured hunters like Todd should use a crossbow.
