I took Italian in school for 3 years, in American schools if the school offers Italian they teach the Tuscan dialect, that's what I know and I understand some of this. I like it because im 25% Neapolitan :D

No it's not like Spain and Mexico sharing the same language. Neapolitan has its own grammar and vocabulary that is separate from that Italian. The languages are very similar, and the speakers may be able to understand each other for the most part but they are still separate languages.
this of course is the version recorded for the movie in which they act silly. i have uploaded the actual studio recorded hit and one where this same version is translated to english.. the actual studio hit was done great--no ukeles and no clowning around. most people have lost track of the actual original hit since its been done so many times for dance music or done as a comedy like in the movie.

The word dialect here is a bit of a misnomer, a term that is misleading. Neapolitan is a language just like English or Spanish or French etc, or standard Italian for that matter. It is the original language of the region as it evolved from the local form of Latin.
