The thing with exclusives is that their contracts require them to have x amount of exclusives a year with those companies, and all the preorders and distribution is up to that third party company. It's a business deal, not necessarily up to the Marvel Legends team.
I'm okay with store exclusives because they support the business. I'm not okay with making a highly desired figure, especially one on a new body, a store exclusive. You mention the last Warbird, but we can go much more recently and point to the retro card Prowler and Carnage as store exclusives, which were also not okay. Examples of acceptable store exclusives include Mobius, flaming arms Captain Marvel, and the villain from the Eternals movie. If Hasbro is where fans come first, and they're actually listening to the fans, they'll find a way to make these exclusive figures easier to get by forcing Walmart, Target, or Walgreens to keep pre-orders open for at least a week, regardless of demand, and buy more from Hasbro as needed.
I agree with you about the Target Exclusive especially since it's only snatch up by scalpers and sell up on eBay for high prices than anything else, Hasbro should stop all Target & Walmart exclusive and keep figures in stock for everyone!

Commenting because you’re bringing me up directly. Just to be clear, my statement is a personal statement not representing hasbro. I was sincerely trying to show fans of the community that we are aware of the situation. And trying to see what happened. We don’t control all the parts of the process in which a preorder happens. We would always want to make any preorder to be a positive experience. But unfortunately it is not always the case. Warbird will be available in stores at Target. I said hopeful tho because I know that doesn’t mean every single person who wants warbird will be able to get her. Carnage was planned as a reveal months ago so it wasn’t trying to cover for anything.
We don't blame you @danyunistrying. We know you guys at Legends don't control where things get distributed. As a person who lives in new york city and hasn't seen a Legends figure on any racks at the targets I've been too this was a disheartening loss. Out of all the figures from the 85 year celebration warbird was the only I wanted for what I'm trying to build. And to now see this figure go for more than what she sold for in aftermarket is really a let down.
This is off-topic, but could you comment on why Cable missing the blue on the sides of the crotch piece? All marketing material shows him with it but there are early reviews up and the sides aren't painted. Is this just on early copies?

I know you personally don’t have control over everything. I get that. But if you want to always make sure that any preorder is to be a positive experience like you said, can you please take into consideration with your team and other partners involved, of not releasing a character as an exclusive that was already an exclusive prior to the same store in the same costume? It would go a long way for us collectors. Especially those that waited 10 years to get a Warbird since her last release. Thank you for listening.
Okay yeah they did cook with this release but I’m probably not gonna have him on the shelf as movie carnage(unless I get 2) I might put him as a stand in for the absolute carnage run version of carnage since that version was also a bigger version of the character might look a bit off but it should look okay hopefully
Now you got me curious to see what the absolute carnage head would looks like on it. I know it’ll be way too small and won’t fit due to the size but if someone can upscale that head for a custom, that would be a great display option.
The big box retailers throw extra money Hasbro's way to have exclusive distribution rights for a figure. The other part of it is that if Hasbro DOESN'T slide them an exclusive figure every so often, the retailer might not stock as many Hasbro products (remember, they sell a ton of other things besides action figures)
It's the same BS they pulled with the Classic Moonknight first a Walgreens exclusive then at Target.....Im in Canada I've no shot at a figure of my favorite character.....I can only hope they release him down the line on the RYV buck or something mainline characters as exclusives sucks

I think they all sold out bc of the sale and target didn't want them to get bought on sale. If they have a restock after the sale then i know i hit the nail on the head. I don't think any pre-sale item should sale out, just stop preorders like comics, give them a cut off date. It don't make since just make the return policy different to stop the scalpers. Ie one return per customer and only up to 5 figures something bc this sucks.
I got the SHF carnage last year thinking that Hasbro wasn’t going to do one of these carnage figures. I thought they would within the 2 year window between let there be carnage and 2023 just like the last venom, but no. So I bought the SHF version cause it looked amazing and still goes well with legends, so I’m surprised about this announcement because of my suspicions that it would happen. I just thought it would happen earlier.
Instead of remaking the movie Venom how about a PS5 deluxe Venom with a Kraven as a 2 pack? I mean all they need to do is just grab a movie Venom mold, add the Scorpion Venom logo front-back and make two new heads as well as the wings.

I absolutely HATE the movie's design of carnage but i can always give credit and praise when love and care is put into making a toy. And you can just tell Hasbro put a ton of passion and work into this figure. The bendy wire tentacles and weapons could have easily been omitted as well. And Carnage, even though i hate the design, is ripped straight from the movie and completely identical. Ive been looking to update my carnage since i got the monster venom baf version. And this is it. Hasbro has made me actually like a design of a character i really didnt like. Whoever the sculptor and makers were on this figure, they clearly love the character. Good job hasbro for making me do a 180

My thing is, this is a pre order how do you run out on a pre order? Haslab was a pre order and the order was in the thousands whats the difference with target getting pre order for warbird. 🤷♂️
The HasLab stuff is made-to-order, meaning Hasbro just produces for however many orders they get. Whereas with retail exclusives, the retailers usually just buy a set amount and put however many they have on the site/in stores. The only real drawback with made-to-order is that you'll have to wait longer to get the figures in hand, but I think it's preferable to absurdly short pre-order windows where there's no guarantee you'll be able to get the figure you want.
Thanks for your thoughts on Warbird. I am glad that someone is making videos on this topic. Living in a country without a Target store to speak of, these Target exclusives are a double slap in the face to the international collectors. This is Hasbro greed bleeding through the sham again. The only real drawback with made-to-order is that you'll have to wait longer to get the figures in hand, but I think it's preferable to absurdly short pre-order windows where there's no guarantee you'll be able to get the figure you want.

Living in a country without a Target store to speak of, these Target exclusives are a double slap in the face to the international collectors. This is Hasbro greed bleeding through the sham again. Mr. Yun, whom I do not know nor know his intentions, is pretty pretentious with his X comments. Thankfully the movie Carnage figure smooths the frustration experienced with Warbird.

When I think of y’all being pompous I think back to the time when y’all compared The Hood to angry marvel legends fans, or when Dwight was slapping the galactus knees during early reveals to indicate that y’all had fixed the issue that the sentinel had instead of directly acknowledging that the very expensive sentinel haslab figure had design flaws. Mine in particular took a nose dive off its shelf in the middle of the night because the knees gave out.
I was a loyal customer of yalls for years. Then around 2021 yall started to give us a subpar product and your company’s business practices made me decide to take my money elsewhere.

Why wait so long to put this out? Most people who wanted a movie carnage already pulled the trigger on the shf version over a year ago. Typical hasbro, this would have sold double or triple if they released it earlier, but then again its hasbro, you cant expect common sense.
